Guest guest
I will be working part time for two entities for which both Mcare/Mcaid will be billed, I presume under their identification number (rather that one i apply for). Is it necessary for me to have a UPIN for each to provide services at the insitutions providing services and hiring me as an independent contractor? I am planning transition into a micropractice but must have these employments to fall back on until my productivity reaches a sustainable level. I would prefer not to have a gov't number since I have no intention to bill Mcare/Mcaid on my own behalf and prefer not to have to " opt out " at some point with attendant complications and paperwork. These insitutuion are just not sure if I need a UPIN or not to practice at their facility but are inclined to think that I should have. I thought my national ID would be sufficient. Does anyone have a similar experience or have and answer. By the way, this is a fabulous resource and quite a amicable well behaved Yahoo group.
