Guest guest
Hey friends,I had an appt with an abdominal specialist surgeon at the University of Utah Med Center today. After being turned down by 3 other surgeons, this surgeon is taking me on without it seems, any hesitation. ..... I did a lot of research on him and feel confident in his surgical abilities. BUT...... when I asked him about my bloating and pain associated with it since the DS, he said that bloating is typical of over half of WLS post-ops and that there isn't anything I can do about it. When I told him I had gone lactose free and glutten free, he said that it doesn't matter....anything I eat will make me bloat if I have that tendency since having my innards messed with. What do y'all think? I trust him for the hernia repair but I'm disappointed with the bloating news:( He's referred me to a Bariatric surgeon on staff there that apparently does the Rny, sleeve and DS. I'm still relatively new to UT and being established with a local DS program is interesting......just soooo hoping that there's a prescription with a super Gas-X or something that can kill the painful (and socially awkward and cosmetically ugly) bloat! Anyone else have any " bloat " killing luck? Tips? Thanks!Joyce in UT
