Guest guest
Hi All! My husband and I have made the financially hard decision to remove our son, who will be turning 4 in November, from public pre-k program in Dekalb County. Without going into all the gory details, we just don't feel like the public school has our son's best interests at heart, nor do we feel like his current teacher and parapros have the ability to " reach " him. As such, I am desperating trying to find a private preschool program that will accept an autistic/non-verbal child for a 3 yr old class (as he turns 4 after the school year starts). We have been on Walden's waiting list for over 1 year and I'm currently looking at Atlanta Speech School and Summit Learning Center. Does anyone have any other preschool recommendations? I'm finding that most private schools don't take kids who are less than 5 years old (ie: Hirsh, , Eaton, Porter), but most of my local church preschools won't accept kids who are autistic (and their registration process occurs in January). Does anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!
