Guest guest
I am in the process of updating the links on this website, but I have a collection of resources I gathered about 4 years ago on free homeschooling resources. The getting started section will offer of ideas on what direction you might want to take. For those just getting started, I recommend that you take a look at websites or books that discuss different learning styles and try to figure out your child's style. The second factor would be your teaching style. There are some curricula out there that would be great for my kids but I can't stand to teach them- so those are out. :-) Lots of curricula vendors offer free samples of their materials so you can take a look at a few pages before committing. If you order from a catalog like Rainbow Resource you can return items that aren't a good fit. There are also plentiful curricula review sites that will help you get a better idea of whether something is right for you. Finally, there are vitural academies that are still connected with your school system but offered at home in most states now. So if you don't want to go completely solo that would be an option. Guest guest
And.... I always forget to add the link: http://www.hwtk.net/links.html Sorry. If you visit the government sponsored website ERIC and do a search for materials related to your child's SN, you may find free teaching guides as well. http://www.eric.ed.gov/ERICWebPortal/search/simpleSearch.jsp?newSearch=true & eric\ _sortField= & searchtype=basic & pageSize=10 & ERICExtSearch_SearchValue_0=autism & eric\ _displayStartCount=1 & _pageLabel=ERICSearchResult & ERICExtSearch_SearchType_0=kw

It takes dedication but it's so fun!
