What kind of eggs do you buy? I am torn between the cheap store brand

(anywhere from .69 to .99 a dozen) and the fancy eggs such as

Egglands Best or other types of organic eggs (anywhere from $1.50 to

over $2.00 a dozen). Is there any difference? Does it really matter?

It's been hard for me to decide. I eat anywhere from 5-10 eggs a day

so this can be a real expense for me.

Miss LeDix, see chicken/egg joke below

A chicken and an egg were in bed together. The chicken had a big

smile on it's face and was smoking a cigarette. The chicken said, " I

guess we answered that question, didn't we? " . :)

Hi,

LOL :)

I usually buy the organic free ranging ones, only because it makes me

feel better. I hate the thought of chickens being cooked up in

cages. :( I dont really know if there is a difference. Maybe some

else knows.

Hi Miss L! I buy the regular kind of eggs myself. But that's prolly

due to the fact that here in CA it's a miracle to find a dozen eggs

for under $2. I don't even know how much $$ the organic ones are!

I have tried the organic eggs, just because so many organic things

*taste* so much better, but I didn't find any taste difference. The

main nutritional difference is that organic eggs have more of the

omega-3 essential fatty acids in them, which helps balance out the

arachidonic acid (the article Andyman posted had this info in it).

This is nutritionally significant only if you eat the yolks.

Since I eat only the whites I just can't bring myself to pay for the

organics. *shrug* Just a cheap-o I guess. LOL

It's not only chickens being couped up in cages, but the cages are

stacked, dozens are stacked up,,and when they poop, there's nowhere

for it to go but down on to the other chickens, food and eggs YUCK!!

I buy the organic too, much safer:)
