Guest guest
I think I read that people put things into ice cube trays and freeze in tablespoon sizes in baggies for later use. even purees. canadiangirlsdream wrote: Somewhere on this forum I have read that some people add different fruit juice concentrates to their finished kombucha when bottling. I had some organic black current juice concentrate at home, used it, and really like the resultant kombucha drink. I am wondering though, since I only use several Tbs.of the concentrate every time I am bottling Kombucha,(every 10- 12 days), would the rest of concentrate go bad? After all, it will take many weeks to use up the concentrate in the kombucha, and there is no preservative in the concentrate. I realize I can use up the concentrate right away to make regular juice, except that I don't necessarily drink that much currant or jerry juice. What do other people do? Guest guest
Hi, I keep my fruit concentrates on the door of the refrigerator and add a teaspoon or more right into the glass of Kombucha. That way I don't disturb the Kombucha I am brewing, or even in the bottle, but just add whichever flavor I like at the time I am going to drink it. I also add fruit juice such as Pomegranate or Grape once in awhile too. Yum! Guest guest
I had to freeze the malt I purchased since it came in such a large amount. Guest guest
Oh, yes the freezing I read about was for using the concentrates in cooking in small amounts. yoganandaom wrote: Hi, I keep my fruit concentrates on the door of the refrigerator and add a teaspoon or more right into the glass of Kombucha. Guest guest
Thank you all for your helpful ideas. Not wanting to kill the vitamin content of the fruit concentrate while freezing, I think I will keep in in the fridge and use more of it as I go in my kombucha.
