I have to give my son Nystatin 4 times a day

– 8 capsules total. How in the world do you keep probiotics away from

the antifungals on a schedule like this? He’s to take 2 probiotic

capsules a day – one AM – one PM>

Are you giving probiotics two hours away from any

antifungals? When you aggresively kill yeast, bad bacteria can take

over unless you supplement with good bacteria. What has been very

helpful for my two boys is Klaire's Therabotic complete and Young Coconut

I posted this once, but

I think it got burried as no one responded...

This past week, with my 3 1/2 year old, there has been an increase in

spontaneous burst tantrums (this is a kid who can go up to 3-4 weeks

without a tantrum)to up to 6-7 a day (happy one second, screaming the

next over things like eating the last piece of a muffin). He potty

trained this summer and was doing great. This week, he has started

tantrumming screaming " NEW PANTS! " which used to mean he had peed

in

his pants, but when I check him, he's still dry. I put him on the

potty and he maybe squeezes out a drop or two...definitely not a full

bladder situation.

And the topper - my son who has NEVER hit anyone, has started showing

agressing, hitting things when he's angry (never really shown anger

before either) and yesterday after I denied him access to a toy he was

using to bang on the walls, he asked to be picked up, looked me in the

AM: 165 mg valtrex, SuperNuThera, MultiMineral Pro Support, 10 mg

5 mg biotin, 500 mg taurine, 2 Kirkman DMG/Folic/B12, 1 Phenol Assist,

1 milk thistle, 2 drops GSE, 1 yeast aid.

Noon: 165 mg valtrex, 10 mg zinc, 5 mg biotin, 500 mg taurine, 1

Phenol

Assist, 2 drops GSE, 1 yeast aid, 100 mg vitamin E (kirkman's caps).

Evening:

165 mg valtrex, SuperNuThera, MultiMineral Pro Support, 20 mg zinc, 5

mg biotin, 500 mg taurine, 1 milk thistle, 2 SacB caps (10 billion), 3

ProBioGold (60 billion), 400 mcg folinic.

He is GFCF (also soy/egg/rice/ flax/bean/ phenol-free too)

So, all that background info to ask this - Does anyone know if the

ingredients in yeast aid (Vit C 500 mg, Biotin 900 mcg, selenium 70

mcg, OLE 200 mg, Pau D'Arco 200 mg, Goldenseal 100 mg, Caprylic Acid

100 mg, Cranberry 25 mg, Oregano 100 mg) could be causing some of this

behavioral change? I haven't found anything online indicating it, but

the timing is too coincidental to not take note. I won't be giving him

any more of the yeast aid, but want to know for further

supplementation

purposes if one of these things just shouldn't be given.

When I had my boys on Nystatin, I had to reduce the amount of times I gave it (from four to two and give the total dosage split between the two). I gave probiotics in the middle of the day and at bed time. Now they are on Nizoral which only has to be given once. I give OLE three times per day and still have to keep probiotics away. Ok – see this is what makes me CRAZY!!!

Just when I think I’ve figured the scheduling out – I hear something from

someone that has me second-guessing everything! I thought I had asked my doc

about probiotics and antifungals and he said that they were fine to give

together. Thank you for confirming!!!

if you DO have a strep issues (that is when we see peeing issues increase, hand writting dive, agressive behaviroals come in over night) then stay away from probtoics with strep strains in them (the therabotic complete contiains strep lines) but the detox does not

Thanks to all for the responses! I'll get him tested for PANDAS - we

tested once last November and it came back clean. If it is Strep,

what is everyone's best recommendation for PANDAS-safe probiotics?

We need something REALLY high-potency for this yeasty kid. We've

been throwing AC in the mix in between his AM & afternoon doses, and

in between his afternoon & PM doses. Since taking him off the Yeast

Aid, his tantrums have fallen off a little and the anger seems to be

subsiding.

we use klaire labs detox support as it's a high dose, non milk based with no strep lines in it. to treat PANDAS or strep we use OLE to fight it, make sure that the OLE and PROBOTICS are at different times, OLE in AM probotics at PM
