Guest guest
Hi Judy, I have sent you something directly. In relation to what was being discussed, the main concern is: From the Rooney paper: It seems apparent from the body of research reviewed by Bridges and Zalups (2005), that endogenous thiols, such as cysteine, homocysteine, GSH and NAC play an important role in the distribution of mercury throughout the body. This is likely to be highly relevant clinically and studies are needed to investigate the potential effect of thiol intake in both dietary and supplementary form on mercury distribution and toxicity. Many doctors advise GSH or NAC in the treatment of mercury poisoning - this does not seem advisable in light of the available evidence. Regards judy barney wrote: , You suggested to check the Rooney paper for info on the downside to administering glutatione to people with heavy metal toxicity. Please give me more information so I can find the Rooney paper, thanks so much. Judy Barney
