Guest guest
I hope all comes back well, I hated waiting for answers with Abby. you said 3 1/2 weeks or months. Abby's neurologist told me that if I ever noticed some new behavior before her next appointment to call her immediatly. I would call and tell ther neurogist that you need some answers and that you are very concerned about your daughters health. Abby's EEG always comes back abnormal-no seizure activity but the abnormalness is common in a autistic childs brain, so I have been told. Let me know what happens. Guest guest
Dear Pennie. That was me. After observing my daughter for over an hour and interacting with her, my neuro didn't think it was neceassary to put her through the 24 hour eeg. This especially after I told him how great she had been doing after 2 weeks on L-Carnosine. Guest guest
That might have been me. My daughter had an EEG & MRI 1/9. Her MRI came back fine but her EEG was " abnormal'. We have to wait until 3/12 for her neurology appt. I asked the pediatrician what she thought " abnormal " meant -- if it meant she was having seizures. She said she wasn't sure. I can't wait until 3/12 -- my daughter has been doing something weird in the past couple of weeks. She has been rolling her eyes & closing them. This started a couple of weeks ago. I thought she was just rolling her eyes because she was mad about something. Me & my other daughter roll ours eyes alot according to my husband (lol). Please keep us in your thoughts. A child is like a butterfly in the wind, some fly faster, some fly harder but they all fly the best they can. Each one is different, each one is beautiful and each one is special. Guest guest
I am sorry -- her appt is March 12, 2003. Our pyschologist told us the same thing about autistic children having abnormal EEG. Guest guest
Dear Pennie, The L-Carnosine must be stabalizing whatever was going on in her brain as we haven't seen anything observable that would indicate seizure activity. Even her work at school has begun to increase. Guest guest
, the only thing that Abby's neurologist said was that the abnormal brain waves were actually normal for a autistic person. Go figure..Didnt exactly get any earth shattering answers. But then again I never really do from a doctor, except for her ped. What did they tell you? Guest guest
Our appt with the neurologist is March 12. I will share our results with the group. Our pediatrician stated that the EEG report to her was vague. Generalized (over his entire body not focused on one spot), very short (about 30 seconds) and the first he has ever experienced. We meet with the Neurologist tomorrow and I am being bombarded with facts and opinions and information that are making my head spin. Has anyone else experienced this? Guest guest
Hi, My son is 12 years old. He never had a seizures. However his EGG(it was done when he was 6 years old) read abnormal with disorganization of the background on the left as well as some left hemisphere sharp activity on his brain that can cause seizures. His Neurologist told me that he never had seizures yet but he has chances to have seizures eventually. I'm curious to know why this happening with your son know. Take care, A.Simon, "I know God promises not to give me more than I can handle. Guest guest
Don't know ? They think it could be when he gets sick his temp races to fast for him to handle thus having the seizures. He would be fine at 5pm but at 501pm it would be 105 and/or higher. Guest guest
Yes, that explain the seizures. I saw the other day McCarthy talking about how her son recover from Autism. Her boyfriend Jim Carrey says on the interview the only problem they have with him now is to keep an eye on him when he have fever it can cause him to have seizures Take care, A.Simon, "I know God promises not to give me more than I can handle. Guest guest
I wonder if you saw the recent Newsweek Magazine that was devoted to epilepsy. It had alot of good information in it and was written in layman's terms. Try going to newsweek.com and searching epilepsy for info. **************We found the real ‘Hotel California’ and the ‘Seinfeld’ diner. What will you find? Explore WhereItsAt.com.
