Guest guest
A few years back, when I was struggling with severe depression, a friend suggested I read the book " Beyond Prozac. " Can't remember the author's name at the moment, but he is also an M.D. (heh... don't hold that against him). Among other things he mentions in his book is that the combination of fish oil and primrose oil (or borage oil) will help depression. It's not " happy juice, " but it helped me and might help others. Barry Sears ( " Zone " author) mentions in his book, " The Omega Rx Zone, " much the same thing. He's advocating the use of high-dose, pharmaceutical-grade fish oil (which he also sells), which has helped people with all sorts of problems... infertility, Alzheimer's, heart problems, depression, etc. The Weston A. Price people also advocate the use of cod-liver oil combined with high-vitamin butter oil; I am using the cod-liver oil and hope to buy the other stuff soon (it's expensive but you use small doses). I know it's been fashionable for decades to attempt a nearly fat-free diet, but it really doesn't seem to actually a healthy thing to do.
