About two months after my DS I talked to Dr. K about the amount of food I could

eat. I could eat 10 times the amount that I could when I had the RNY. Dr. K

asked if I could eat as much as prior to the surgery. When I answered, " no, " he

told me not to worry.

The one difference between the DS and other WLS is that we can eat more

sometimes. Even now, 5.5 years out, I have days I can polish a foot long sub

sandwich off in one meal. Other days I can hardly eat.

Case in point; yesterday I took my niece over for surgery with Dr. K (was

supposed to be Monday but she had a reaction to meds -- she is in room 304 by

the way, that is the room they always put me in). I got up about 2 a.m., at a

light breakfast and then the rest of the day I could not eat anything. All day I

felt as if I'd eaten three thanksgiving day dinners and needed to vomit because

I was so full. it is 8.30ish Thursday morning and I am still not hungry nor do I

feel as if I COULD eat anything.

So, just listen to your body and eat a little less than you think you

can/should, and all will be well.
