One of my clients whose 3 children were taken away from her due to unhealthy environment. She wanted to kill herself on the day the kids were removed from home. I understand her heart broken feeling. But when I visited her children at foster homes, they were in clean clothes, neat hair, ate good food, pretty happy but of course missing their mommy. Per court order, the mother will earn the kids' custody back if she can show improvement of life quality. Did you apply social services for support and guidance?

I haven't been around for a long while. I have a 10 year old son named Ricky with Aspergers. Some of you may remember some of the problems I was having with my son at the end of last year and the beginning of this year. I decided in February to give over temporary custody of my son to his father for a couple of months. It was just suppossed to be until May. Now it has turned into a custody battle that is getting ugly. We had a Guardian ad Litem appointed to my case. I go back June 20th for another hearing. Hopefully this time, the court will let me have custody back of my son.I have not been doing very well with my son gone. Yes, I am glad not to have him constantly beating on me and leaving bruises. I am glad not to have the police in my home a couple times a week. I just miss my son and want to have him back to start over. He wants to come back with me as well.I have been doing all I

can to get stronger and learn some more things about parenting my child. I have been going to parenting classes and reading anything I can get my hands on. I haven't really talked to many about this. I just felt like sharing. Has anyone here ever had their child taken away because of the behavior problems? I have been told that I may not be the right person to have custody of my son. It is so heartbreaking., NW OHIO

This is an incredibly insensitive post. Furthermore, which do you

think is more psychologically harmful--having uncombed hair or living

in an unloving foster home with strangers? You have a strange

perception of " life quality " !!!

Sorry I haven't gotten back to anyone who wrote to me. I don't have

a computer at home and I don't get to thel ibrary very much. I have

good news. This afternoon I go to court and get temporary custody of

my son back!! We have a guardian ad litem working on my case and she

came by my apartment Saturday morning to see me and my son, who was

here on visitation. Well, she told me that my son wasn't going back

to his father on Sunday afternoon and that she filed an emergency

hearing for today. My son's father and stepmother were very abusive

to my son and she found out about it and called Children's Services

and reported them.

I am so glad to have my son back. He is doing good. We have alot to

work on, but I am not giving up this time. I have a second chance.

- I will do some research to see who can provide assistance with your son- could you be more specific about your location in Ohio? You are welcome to e-mail me personally.

Thanks to everyone for your kind words. Everything so far is going

really good. Very little behavior problems, so far. I hope to keep

it that way. He went back to school for the last few days. His

teachers told me that he is so much calmer and relaxed and more

cooperative, than he was a few months ago. That is good news to me.
