Guest guest
School district would not give my son an IEP, BUT his new cyber school 2 months after he's started is going to start an eval next week. Awesome. No politics, just help for my son!!! My son is 9 yrs. old and has a dx of Asperger's Syndrome! I am his teacher since he's homeschooled basically though a cyber charter. He does have a few live lessons a week....30 mins math, 45 for Language arts, and 45 for grade level skills across the board to prep for state testing (and they say that teachers don't teach for the test! HA! Right!! Well, good news!! Just sharing....

Guest guest
Yes, the do teach for the test or they lose their job!! That is the way of education today. Money makes the world go round and they don't get the $$ if they don't get AYP!! Guest guest
I hoped for that too, the online charter we have in WA wouldn't give an IEP if the public brick and mortar didn't. I am curious to hear what happens. School district would not give my son an IEP, BUT his new cyber school 2 months after he's started is going to start an eval next week. Awesome. Guest guest
, Maybe WA is so bad at giving kids what they need (hear some sarcasm here) that it's very common to bail on brick and mortar to get an IEP with online schooling and so they made a rule. It was a LOT of structure for us, and my kids are pretty ODD, so hard, but I found I could do so many of the accomodations that an IEP was not neccesarily needed. It would have been nice though! Still a great program and a great free option! really?? wow, and what did they say was the reason?
