Guest guest
I had the same issue. Unfortunately I did not tell them before they started the test. The hospital would not let me drive afterwards. They give you a mild sedative for the EDG. I was from out of town so the only way I could " leave " was to have a tow truck come and get my rental and I went back to the airport from there. (flight was that night) Unfortunately it took ALL afternoon to make that happen. So if you do not have anyone accompanying you I would suggest telling the EDG tech before they give you the sedative that you do not have anyone accompanying you and that you want to forgo the sedative. This way they can bypass that and you should be good to go. The test was really no big deal and I did not need the sedative anyway. The only difference it made was getting the scope past the gag reflex. > > I have a question...I have an appointment on Friday to consult with Dr. K. Prior to the appointment I am scheduled to have an UGI and EGD. I will not have anyone with me after the EGD. Dr. K's office states that this isn't a problem. Whereas, the clinical department states someone must accompany me to Dr. K's office afterward. > > Has anyone had this predicament? > > Thank you! > > Tonya >
