I think it is common for Stills to bother the neck..the nerves get pinched and it radiates to the elbow,,it could also be fibromyalhia..thoses areas bother me alot..in fact I need to lie down to relieve it..also..it is worse after a car ride...hugs Liz NJ( a doc told me it was fibromyalhia..then when I had surgery for 2 slipped discs the surgeon said afterwards..wow.you hav alot of arthritis in your neck!!)

Beth, when I have that pain and yes I do a lot at times I think it's my neck. My shoulder muscles over compensate for all the damage in my neck area and get really flared from doing all the work to hold up the head.

I don't know if this is why you are having problems but just my experiences.

Good day, Melt

If any of you have had inflammation in your upper back shoulder area, can a flare of arthritis in your shoulders cause pain in your arms down to about the elbows? Would this cause it to be difficult to be able to write say on a chalkboard with some weakness?

Thanks, Beth

Beth,

I had those terrible pains in the shoulders. And to make it even more fun it would change sides sometimes, just make one side hurt bad, then for iceing on the cake it would just go ahead and do both sides. When this happened sometimes I could hardly lift my arms to do anything.

My neck has been as rigid as hell for much of the last month, and the last few weeks have seen my left shoulder (mainly) jump into the fun.

I have experienced a lot more pain due to it, but it hasn't effected the mobility of my arms too awful bad, and I pray it stays that way.
