Thank you all so much for input and responses. We are finally moving

in the right direction with our ST...kind of. I don't think she

grasps the fact that DD is SUPER strong willed LOL. I have referals

for OT and PT and will be starting those appointments soon. DD and I

found an apartment in Fayette County so I am working on getting her

enrolled there and hopefully things will move swiftly for her. I

think I will be going to the Son-Rise institute for training soon!!!

Our ST brought it up repeatedly that DD is very, well...almost

lethargic. (I've been told that she is low toned and that is why she

doesn't like to move much.) Is this a side effect of the GF/CF diet?

Not being low-toned, but " lathargic " ? Is it possible that my DD is

the ONLY kid with Autism that this ST has come across on this end of

the spectrum?

Also, how hard do I push DD? Sometimes when she's outside " playing "

or in a room other than the kitchen (Which is hardly ever because she

is ALWAYS crumbing for food.), she will say " EAT! " or she will

whine " I wanna eat. " Knowing that she is able to say this, how hard

do I push her at meal time to use her words " I want to eat please. "

Generally we take anything resembling the phrase " Eat please. " " Wanna

eat " " EAT! " How long should I try to get her to say it? She will say

eat right away if it is something she really likes, like pizza or

cookies. If the meal is something she doesn't particularly LOVE, you

could sit with her for 2 hours and she still wouldn't respond to you!

I know that I am her parent and that I should " go with my gut, " but

I'm having a hard time hearing my " gut " right now. I know I don't

want DD to be a 40 year old, woman-child that screams when she wants

to eat. I also know that DD seems to be the child that if she doesn " t

NEED to do something, she won't.

TIA for any advice,

CC
