Guest guest
For some weight loss is a very serious side affect with Stills. When diagnosed I lost massive amounts of weight. Melt what is causing my weight loss?
Guest guest
Jogged? Good for you! I sure as hell wish I could hit the gym like I used to, but almost feel a sense of relief that I no longer have to devote my little bit of free time to satisfying my ego.I have been on a weight roller coaster, so to speak. I was 209 in January, 231 in July, 214 in late August and am hanging around 224 right now. I am comfortable at 205 to 210, but would love to see 198, which is what I weighed after boot camp in the Army. You certainly sound enthusiastic, and I commend you for that. Keep with it man, and beat this! Best of luck, Kirk. what is causing my weight loss? I see that I am loosing weight, is this from loosing muscle mass or from the med's, or what? Currently I am only taking 35 mg. of pred. daily (but it's getting lowered to 30 mg tomorrow!), and that's it as far as the med's. go. I know the pred. usually puts the weight on, but it hasn't yet for me.I have been feeling real well since my diagnosis about a month ago, and I have been eating well, but I have lost 20 lbs in the last 7 weeks. Last spring my doc. told me to lose 50 lbs! I didn't realize I needed that much off, and told him I wasn't overweight, just too short for my weight! I didn't realize that it would take Stills to get the weight off! LOL I wonder if it's too late to try something else and give the Stills back!?!?On another note, I went to my YMCA last night, and hit the treadmil, and walked for 1-1/2 miles, and I also JOGGED (with my RD's permission) for a half mile! That was the first time in 7 weeks that my legs moved that fast! Today I don't feel any reprocussions from that little jog, and my RD is happy about that!I hope everyone is having a GREAT day!RobVisit the Still's Disease Message Boardhttp://disc.server.com/Indices/148599.htmlThe materials and information contained in this message are not intended to replace the services of a trained health professional or to be a substitute for medical advice of physicians and/or other health care professionals. Guest guest
Kirk, so far the Still's hasn't hit me too hard...yet, so I'm trying to take advantage of my situation while I can! I had a pretty bad flare in mid August, which is what led to the diagnosis, but since then, the pred. has pretty much masked any symptoms, other than an occacional discomfort in a misc. joint. I'm 6'-3 " tall, and my family doc. feels I need to be at 200-210 lbs., I was at 250 in mid August, but I " carried it well " , lol! I am currently at 230, and going down, which at this time, since I'm feeling pretty well at this time, I'm happy with the weight loss, but I also know whats coming (as far as the Still's goes), and I'm not looking forward to that! Guest guest
Why? Why? Why? DId I totally skip this symptom. When I read all the literature I said, ooh weight loss, ok, well there is at least a bright side...but nooooooooo we skipped right over that one. I love every bit of myself, but feel I could still be an effective advocate of self love at a lesser weight...gheeesh
