Guest guest
Hi , I too have had problems with my neck ever since I got JRA at age 2 1/2. I had a spinal fussion(sp) at Childrens in LA when I was 12. I was cutting the spinal cord. Now I have a disk in 5 that swells and hits the nerve. I get in so much pain that I can't stand or sit. I will hold you in my thoughts. Please keep us all informed. Hugs; Ginger wrote: Hello everyone,Well yesterday was well and all, don't know if that is such the casenow. I just got off the phone with my rhuemy. I had xrays taken up ofmy upper back and neck last week and I just got those results back. Myneck has always been a major problem for me and was always afraid offinding out just how bad it is. The reason for the xrays to start withwas because I have been having a lot of numbing right behind my rightshoulder. My rheumy wants me to go see a neuro-surgeon. One of theproblems in my neck I have had since I was younger, my c5 and c6 isfused togeather, that wasn't new to me, That I have always knownabout. But the xray also shows bone growth spurs on my neck and thatis what I think they are worried about. If it's not one thing with meit's usually something else. I guess I will have to wait and see whatcomes of this. I try not to worry about things but sometimes that ishard. As many of you known I have been going through a lot ofproblems that last couple of years. This last year had been prettyeasy going besides the problems with my lungs. When I find outsomething new with this current issue I will let you all know. Until next time take care everyone. Guest guest
, Just wanted to let you know that my hubby had to go through C-spine surgery two years ago. He had problems with C6 and C7, bone spurs and arthritis. He went to a great neurosurgeon at Jewish Hospital in Louisville and has been so much better. He, too, was having numbing sensations as well as his arm felt like it was "electric". He could hardly move his head. As soon as he came out of surgery, the numbing and tingling were gone. They had to take a bone and fuse it in his neck and file down the spurs. It took him about 8 weeks to recover. They tried physical therapy first, but the surgery is what did the trick. The first couple of weeks were difficult, but he slowly improved with the pain. There was no way he could have kept on going that way, without the surgery. Hopefully you won't need surgery. Just wanted to let you know that I've seen it first hand. Better days for you, Gail in KY wrote: Hello everyone,Well yesterday was well and all, don't know if that is such the casenow. Guest guest
I have been trying to explain to my doctor about electric shocky sensations throughout my body for some months now. It doesn't happen all the time but is very disconcerting when it does. I also have much damage in my neck and you are the first person that has mentioned this type of feeling. Thank you for telling us about your husbands' experiences. Melt Re: Neck Problems , Just wanted to let you know that my hubby had to go through C-spine surgery two years ago.
