Have you seen what is going on in Deltona? Deltona is about 20 minutes west of me and they can't get around in anything except canoes and rowboats. I will stay for this one. I just can't afford to evacuate again and with the way I've got my house set up now, Ivan would literally have to tear my house down to hurt me. My husband is a contractor and he has been going over our roof and the overall structure and he says we are in good shape. Our worst case scenario would be water coming in and we had a dump truck bring in 18 yards of fill dirt. We'll bag it and put it around the house. Our home is concrete block and should be able to handle this one too. I will say that my legs have started hurting really bad which could be an indication that Ivan is getting ready to make his assault on us. I should know by the weekend for sure (more than likely before the weather forecasters will know) because my joints will go into overload and I won't be able to walk. LOL, My body has a built in weather vane mechanism. Your father is a smart man and I'm glad to hear that they will be coming to you. My feeling is this is Mother Nature's way of showing us that we belong to her, not the other way around. Everyone should pay attention to our "wake up call." As long as we don't experience cable television outages, I'll be able to give you guys a blow by blow description of this next storm should it hit. I won't have to worry about my computer being blasted since it's hooked into the generator. Good luck and we will stay in touch. Amazing and now you have Ivan the Terrible bearing down on Florida once again. Of course he is worse than the last 3 put together. YIKES! My folks live just outside of Gainesville near Melrose FL. And they are preparing to make an exodus to me sometime over the weekend. Probably leaving Friday morning to come here to escape Ivan’s wrath, as he is now a Cat5 hurricane and bearing down and looking for a land fall in South Florida and come north and east and exit around Jax/St.Augustine FL. My step dad is a weather forcaster from the Navy and still watches things closely. Frances has awakened him once again to the severity of things and just how fast it can change. I will keep all of my fellow Still’s family in the south on my prayer list til all is calm once again.
