Diane I have been fighting in Colorado for two years for services and

even getting other people to agree with me and so forth. Its finially

paying off there supposed to be audited by the us department of education.

Maybe you can contact someone start with Quebec who isthe head honcho and

go straight up the government. Dont stop and keep on pushing the send

button its FREE! You will make lots of waves but may see progress down

the road. I get that Canada is state controlled or local control and

not unified in services. Talk with people in ONtario and see how they got

services. Just some ideas. charlene

Hi Janice

Welcome. I can't believe how much more your are getting in terms of services

in Ontario as compared to here in Quebec. My dd is pdd-nos and gets

absolutely nothing but an aide in class but for the entire class! Everything

we do for her is done privately.

Hi Janice

Welcome to the list. My name is Tracey and my 10 year old daughter

Skylar is autistic. We too live in Ontario, Canada. Sky is integrated

into a regular grade 5 classroom with a full time E.A.. Unfortunately

she doesn't get as much speech or ot as I would like because it is

supplied by the school board, but she is doing great. This is a great

list. I am sure you will be glad you joined.

Tracey

my introduction

Hello, I am new to the group. 5 weeks ago this coming Monday I camedown with a real bad "cold" that lasted over a week. The followingmonday, while at work, I started noticing that my right wrist wassore, and getting worse as the day went on. That evening, I went tothe local ER with a fever close to 103. I 2 chest x-rays done andtold that I had pneumonia, given some Bioxin, and sent home. Over thenext few days, I got worse, and my joint pain was also getting worse,to the point that I couldn't bend my right knee, do to swelling. Theknee was also hot to the touch. I went in on that Thursday to see myfamily Doctor, as a follow up from the ER visit. He examined me andtold me to get into the hospital, for 24 hours. Will, that visitturned into a 48 hour visit, with 3 doctors following me, my familydoc, a ID doc, and a Rheumitologist. After many tests, and a lot ofblood work, they sent me home that Saturday, with a liver enzyme countof close to 140. Since the original ER visit, I was having dailytemperature spikes, night sweats, and joint pain. The followingMonday brought on a morning visit to my ID doctor, and she told me toget some more blood tests that morning. That afternoon she called meand told me that my liver count was now in the 330 range, and that Ineed to get back to the hospital. Another 2 day visit, without anychange in my condition. After the first full day there, my RD put meon 60mg of Prednisone, and within 3 hours I felt like a new man! Theykept me there overnight, and released me the next day. The RD didn'twant to keep me on the pred. very long, so he started pulling my offright away. The day I got to 30mg, all of my syptoms came back latethat afternoon, prompting my wife to call my RD. He told her to giveme 60mg of pred. right then, and get me to the hospital. By the timewe got someone here to watch our daughter, and figure out whichhospital to go to, the pred. was working it's magic, so that by thetime we got the the ER, they wouldn't admit me. The following day Icalled an ID at the Cleveland Clinic, and went to see him thefollowing afternoon (Wednesday). I had all of my records with me frommy 4 days in the hospital, plus any other tests that were done as anoutpatient. After 2-1/2 hours with the ID doc, he told me that hethought I had Still's, but he wanted a few more tests done. A weekand a day later, I was in his office again (this past Thursday). Assoon as he walked into the exam room, he said that he now feels that Ido have still's, based on all the tests. This is so new to me that Ididn't really hear what he said (I'm glad that my wife was there withme!). I now have an appointment with my RD this coming Tuesdayafternoon. He has been on vacation this past week, but called eachday, until he felt the pred had setteled me down. One thing I feel fortunate about is the quick diagnosis compaired toothers that I have read. Just over 4 weeks from the time I came downwith the "cold". I see that some of you went much longer, and I amsorry for that.Currently I am on 50mg of pred and 25mg of vioxx daily. My name is Rob Linger, I am a Jeep Wrangler fan, I love mountainbiking, hiking in the woods, Jetskiing/boating, I am a naturist, I aman Architectural Draftsman, I have a wonderful wife named Kathy, wehave been married for over 18 years now, and we have an 11 year olddaughter named who is in the 6th grade. We live in a southernsuburb of Cleveland, Ohio. My birthday is June 16, 1962, making me 42years old. I am also a Christian, and I rely on my faith in God, inmore then just my health! My wife and I are youth leaders in our church. That is my story, so far it's a short story. I am sorry you have this ******* but at least you found an excellent group.

I am Kirk, diagnosed 4/04 after 3 hospitalizations and a few ER trips. I am 33, married with 2 sons, ages 6 & 3.

I wish you some quick relief.

On a side note.....Jeep.......make it rock! Put a Chevy small block in it! I used to drag race a big block Olds and currently have a '78 Monte Carlo that is awaiting its' "new" engine.....a 383 stroker that should make well over 500 hp. I am an ASE Certified Master Auto Tech and own/operate a garage in Forty-Fort, Pa. I have done some "off roading" with my truck, but have never seriously built one for myself. I have built numerous off road beasts, including a few Jeeps. I used to do all of these "extra curricular" activities at night, and mainly before I was married in '96. I now rarely build anything, although that is my passion.

Nice to "meet" you, Kirk.
