....I understand completely your not wanting the world to know about the wls

connection! But maybe this info can help...

On the Duodenal Switch and Wls friends facebook disscusion page:

Elle Wrote:

I did not want everyone to see on my WALL whenever I posted on my groups... or

maybe what groups I belong to. I found the solution for this in case you don't

know how to modify it. I found this explanation on thegawker.com: " Go to the

" Settings " menu at the top right of your profile page, then select " Application

Settings, " then scroll down to " Groups " and select " Edit settings. " Set to " Only

me "

It has made me feel a lot better about group memberships.

Then I wrote:

Thanks Elle! I will share my DS story with anyone...the good, bad and ugly

parts...I don't really care who knows what my issues are. But I did go in and

make the change because I wanted to take every step to protect and respect my

wls friends who do feel more private about it.

Note: this is a step we must take INDIVIDUALLY.

Then Anita Wrote:

Exactly. Also, keep in mind, even when you change your GROUPS setting to 'Only

Me', it will still post on your WALL, BUT it's only visible to those that are

also members of this group that are also part of your friends list.

To test it, you'll see a comment on your wall saying that you discussed privacy

settings in the Duodenal switch and WLS friends group if you posted in this

thread, BUT if you go into your privacy settings and choose preview privacy

settings, then choose 'view as' and look at it from the view of anyone not in

this group, you should not be able to see the 'discussed Privacy in blah blah'

post on your WALLl.

Hugs

Thanks Jo,

I will try to look at this later on. I might reconsider. I will see. I share

about my surgery with a lot of people, I am just hesitant for it to be all over
