Guest guest
It's not going to hurt him to stop it now and try again later when there is less confusion as to what may be causing issues.Personally, I would stop the MB12 for now. And then I would eliminate one thing at a time until you find the source of the problem. If it's the MB12, you'll know. If it's not, keep eliminating. Sac B is for yeast so you may be seeing die off from that and Pro-Bio is a probiotic meant to fill the gut with good bacteria and hopefully push out the clostridia. So you could be seeing a reaction to either of those, too. If you still see these behaviors after you drop the MB12 then here are the possibilities:1. Die off. Keep pushing through for another week or so and see if the behavior corrects itself.2. If he's reactive to yeast, Sac B may be causing issues (rare but possible since Sac. B is a yeast and he may just be sensitive to it).3. Not tolerating ProBio and need a new probiotic.4. You need an antibiotic to deal with the clostridia.I'm sure others will post their thoughts, too. Guest guest
You are asking for HELP. Aggression for autistics is usually due to elevated testosterone. I know what I am talking about. Have you ever checked his testosterone level? Does he appear or behave more mature than his age? Check his testosterone level and treat. Suggest you listen to the Geiers: http://www.autismmedia.org/media4.html Contact me if needed. Good luck. Guest guest
Using MB12 is primarily about trying to correct methylation issues. Methylation can be damaged in a number of ways, which is why there is not one size fits all when trying to address this problem. Common things to address this problem are MB12, TMG or DMG along with folinic or folic acid. In the cases of MB12, TMG or DMG it often helps to be supplementing taurine for a few weeks before introducing things like MB12, TMG or DMG as it is very common for their to be an initial drop in taurine when first introducing these methylation correction interventions. This can cause problems. Of course it can be other issues as well that may be causing your son's reactions. But trying to get to the bottom of IF he has methylation issues and just WHAT those methylation issues are might be worth considering if you haven't already. Oh and by the way.... one of the best ways to damage the bodies methylation processes and cycles is to introduce mercury. And when methylation is not working and SAMe is not doing its job methylating a myriad of different things inside the body, including DNA and RNA, then this will affect gene expression, and can even give you things like a mitochondrial disorder. Sound familiar? Anyone heard the chiken and the egg story? Handley wrote: Not all kids react well to or benefit from mb12. We started my son on shots earlier this summer and he had the worst summer of his life with aggression & intense desctructive meltdowns as you describe. Not sure if it was caused by mb12 but it was definitely NOT helped by it. We are still working on behavioral ways to de-escalate his behaviors but it is an ongoing challenge unrelated to mb12. ----- Original Message ----- From: Fergs To: mb12 valtrex Sent: Wednesday, September 10, 2008 9:29 AM Subject: aggression & meltdowns - HELP I think my last post was too involved. ****I just need to know if aggression & intense meltdowns are supposed to still be happening if we've started the MB12 nasal spray?**** Second day we tried it was his worst yet at school. Guest guest
Another theory (Yasko) is that some kids cannot handle too many methyl groups and will do better on hydroxy B12. > > Not all kids react well to or benefit from mb12. Guest guest
All of you have been very encouraging and informative, and I can't thank you enough. Sometimes it just helps to feed on information (instead of worry) while playing the " waiting game " . The good report from today is that although he had some defiant moments at school, SOME of the school day was still great! Even a specific comment from one teacher about how he read out loud! Then, he had a very unique & original conversation of sorts with me after school. I think we're seeing something!!!! YEA!
