Jacqui, what a crazy few days you've had. I praying that both you and your

mom get some rest and that they are able to find the right combination of

drugs that will work for your mom.

Hi all

Thank you Sharon for passing on the word. The story continues though even

after I spoke with you. Got a call that she couldn't stay at hospital she was

at because of INSURANCE. They didn't take hers so had to go back and sign

papers she could be transfered to another hospital's psych unit. The insurance

covered emergency room but not that psych unit. So my friend and neighbor had

come over to see what happened to Mom and found me crying. She drove me to the

hospital so I could sign the papers. (By the way I have DPOA, and it is good

for all things).

The hospital they transfered her to is very good so I have no doubts she will

be getting the help she needs.

Just a short summary of what happened yesterday. She had threatened suicide

the night before last and again yesterday afternoon. I told her she didn't

want to do that but she insisted she could find plenty of stuff around the house

to do away with herself and I couldn't watch her 24 hrs a day. Well I

immediately took the advise to call all her drs. Her primary's asst gave me an

appointment for Monday at 2:45. I asked her if she heard what I said and she

told

me that was the best she could do. Then I called her nuero's office and they

advised me to take her to the emergency room of University Hospital, which I

did. Mom told everyone there that she wanted to die to get rid of her

" people " and that she felt that was the only way they would go away. She was

asked

if she intended to do away with herself and she said yes. Well that's when

they Baker Acted her. For those of you who don't know what Baker Act is, it is

involantary admission to a psych ward.

After finding out that they didn't know what LBD was, I ran home and printed

out the overview, the bad meds and the good meds and brought it to them. They

are going to post it in the Emergency Room so if anyone else comes in with

LBD they will know what not to give them.

For a short summary this grew. My reason for this is to THANK YOU ALL for

your prayers and advise. She is now safe in good hands and I did rest well last

night.

jacqui,

i am so glad your neighbor came over to see what happened at least you had

someoen there with you during the idiotic phase of insurance. i hate insurance

companies. they think they are god and can dictate what tests and etc can be

done, i learned to hate them even more after working in doctors office and

having to fight for each test that doctor ordered prior to surgery. crazy, they

would apporve surgery but not all teh prelim tests, doc wouldnt do surgery

without all teh tests. really sux.

anyways, i am glad that things are settling down finally and please try to

rest while you can, she is in good hands, and you need to take care fo you now,

please,

let me know if there is anyting i can do i will gladly do it for you,

sharon m

a smile a day keeps the meanies away!!!

Jacqui,

I am glad to hear that your mom is safe and in a place where she is

getting help. Take care of yourself and try to get some rest. You

definately did the right thing. You are in my thoughts and prayers.

You are awesome!

I am still learning so much about LBD - good stuff to know even if my mom

does not have LBD!!! Anyway, are there certain meds that are universally

" bad " or universally " good " or does this vary depending on the person who

has the disease?

Thanks!
