Hello to the long-time faithful Stilligan's and to all the new Stilligan

Islanders. My name is or Duchess of Dixie to some. I, like so many,

have not been very active on this site because my health has improved so

much. I feel guilty for that, and want to just let everyone know how

thankful I am for the support they gave me during some very dark, sick hours

for me. I've been reading through some of the new posts, and it has been

breaking my heart to hear how sick some folks are right now. I've been

there, and I just want to encourage all those who are not doing well to keep

posting. If it weren't for the love and support of this site I would never

have made it through my illness so well.

Just a quick update...My rheumy hasn't used the word remission, but I'd have

to say I am in remission. No pred. for a year, no MTX for 3 months, and I'm

weaning off the painkillers. I should be off the painkillers in two weeks.

All I'll have left is my trusty anti-depressant, and I think I'll keep that

one for awhile. I'm looking for work as our finances took a big beating

when I was too ill to work. I'm scared of relapse, but who isn't right? We

must live each day to its fullest, and dismiss those fears when they come.

God Bless each and everyone of you......you are all special.......Chris

P.S. - The dragon may beat our bodies around, but the dragon can never

beat our hearts!!! He is one big loser when it comes to attacking what

really counts - our ability to love, encourage, and laugh - NEVER GIVE

UP!!!!!

Hi

It's great to hear you are so well - don't feel guilty for that as it is cheering to those not feeling good at present.

Good luck in your search for work.

Best wishes

Hi Chris;

Hello, I'm Barbara. It's wonderful your health improved! Many drop off the site or are less active when feeling good. For many, that's normal and healthy. How nice you are reading new posts, and writing your thanks for support. We all need support when down.

I don't see the dragon as a bad thing. Dragons is what we are, breathing fire is what we need to stop. Dragons are beautiful and strong, as evidenced by what has been seen on this site and in conventions. LOL, maybe that's why we should drink so much water ... put the fire out!

Peace,

Barbara
