Guest guest
I just started supplementing the liquid zinc within the last 2 weeks. That is when the shirt chewing and pica started. Should the zinc be helping the pica? Guest guest
Christel We have been on CLO (green pastures) for months now but a low dose (1/2 teaspoon a day). I has refused zinc in the past (in his juice) until I recently purchased some liquid zinc to hide in his juice. I started the liquid zince 2 weeks ago and that is when all this started. It doesn't make sense to me. thanks Becky Subject: Re: pica and excessive scriptingTo: mb12 valtrex Date: Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 8:44 AM the scritping in our house would mean viral issues have flared and he is low in vit A, which would also eliminate it. if you have viral issue going on it can also use up zinc which when low kids can eat none food items another thing that can cause both is recent lead or parasite exposure Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace. com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock. com/MyPage/ recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook .com/profile. php?id=677063169 pica and excessive scripting Two questions: My son has developed pica all the sudden- eating crayons, flowers, play ground tire mulch. Guest guest
sorry but that didnm't make sense to me so let me see if I understand what you are saying. he started zinc and THEN all this started?? my first suspect would be to think there is lead then in the product you are using or that it is depleteing cal (are you doing the zinc with other minerials) if so you may need more cal to stop it, OR that he is high in zinc and low in cooper. have you done blood zinc to copper ratio's? Guest guest
You got it right he started liquid zinc and then all this started. I was trying to put a zinc powder in his drink for months off and on but he would refuse it. Then I started Kirkman's liquid zince 2 weeks ago. I wouldn't suspect Kirkman's products to have any lead in them. We have had the zinc/copper test done and his zinc was in the lower limits of the normal range and copper was in the upper limits of the normal range (tested in Nov 07). We don't supplement calcium because his we are doing the Vitamin K protocol because he has unregulated calcium already going on in his body and to supplement would only make matters worse. He currently is on VSL#3 probiotic, B6, zinc (50mg), CLO (1-2teaspoons), Vitamin K2, and high dose vitamin C- this has dumbfounded me too - hence the emails.... becky From: Christel King <christel76@together .net>Subject: Re: pica and excessive scriptingTo: mb12 valtrex@ yahoogroups. comDate: Tuesday, September 9, 2008, 8:44 AM the scritping in our house would mean viral issues have flared and he is low in vit A, which would also eliminate it. if you have viral issue going on it can also use up zinc which when low kids can eat none food items another thing that can cause both is recent lead or parasite exposure Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace. com/christelkinghttp://foggyrock. com/MyPage/ recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook .com/profile. php?id=677063169 pica and excessive scripting Two questions: My son has developed pica all the sudden- eating crayons, flowers, play ground tire mulch. Guest guest
One other thought ... increasing magnesium as well as zinc has helped with my son's pica. This is just a theory, but I wonder if increasing the zinc without increasing magnesium or other minerals caused some issues for your son? it is milk based, most certainly has milk in it Recovering from Autism is a marathonNOT a sprint, but FULLY possible!Read more about it on my BLOGs athttp://www.myspace.com/christelking http://foggyrock.com/MyPage/recoveringwisheshttp://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=677063169 pica and excessive scripting Two questions: My son has developed pica all the sudden- eating crayons, flowers, play ground tire mulch.
