>My son is 8 and was also just diagnosed with ocd. A really great

book is called " what to do when your child has ocd strategies and

solutions " by Aureen Wagner. She has also written a great childrens

book to go along with it called " up and down the worry hill "

with OCD. We always knew he had a thing for cleaning (he cleans the

kitchen bathroom at least 3 times a week...I am talking scrubbing

toliet, sink, tub, and wiping down the heater in there). I fell

totally overwhelmed with it all. We are not trying meds at this

time...we are going to try looking at another route. Our oldest son

has Tourettes Syndrome and ADHD and threw trial and error we learned

that Red #40 was his trigger...we took that out of his diet and in

36 hours he went from ticing every 1-2 mintues to every 5-6

minutes..then the time between got more and more apart. He is now

12 and still no meds and doing wonderfully. We have not totally put

meds out...but if we can try it natural way...we will do it.

different artificial additives out of his diet at a week at a time

to see if we see a change in him.

try the natural way before and have any input..heck...I am going at

this blind any input would be helpful.
