Guest guest
Just thought I'd repost in case there are some more people interested in participating in this research. Thank you to all who have expressed an interest already! in MA Hi Everyone! It's me, in MA. Although I've been a member of this group since 2002, it's been a while since I last posted, but you may remember that my son, who is now 14, has been sub-clinical in his OCD for over 5 years now due to nutritional and supplemental interventions, including the omega-3 fatty acids. As a result of my son's success and my need to understand the mechanisms of his success, four years ago I enrolled in a Ph.D. program in Holistic Nutrition through Clayton College of Natural Health. I have completed most of the course work and am now in the process of recruiting interested parties for my dissertation research exploring omega-3 fatty acids (specifically EPA) and B vitamins in children with OCD. Participation criteria includes the following: *children between the ages of 7 and 14 years old *primary diagnosis of OCD *not currently, or within the past three months, on an SSRI or other medication for OCD *not currently or within the past three months taking complementary or alternative substances for OCD, such as inositol, omega-3 fatty acids, fish oil, 5-HTP, valerian root, b vitamins, etc. *willingness to remain medication free for the duration of the study (1-2 months) *willingness to not start, change or discontinue current form of therapy *ability to swallow capsules Exclusions: *known allergies to fish or shellfish *Individuals on blood thinning medication If you think your child may be interested in participating, or if you'd like more information, please contact me at n3ocdresearch@.... Thank you all for your interest in this study! With your assistance we may be able to determine the role nutritional interventions may play in decreasing OCD. Sincerely, M. Bordeleau ( in MA) n3ocdresearch@...
