le, you don't get to snack when you are doing low carb. LOL I'm just

kidding. I'm probably not the best person to talk to you about this but I

can try. I don't follow any uniformed " low carb " way of eating. I just

consciously try to eat lower carbs BECAUSE a while ago, I went a whole 2

weeks of eating a LOT lower carbs (I actually counted my carbs) and I felt so

good those two weeks. I think I was eating around 60-80 grams a day. That

is a HUGE difference from how I normally eat and my body certainly reacted to

it. Like you, snacking was the thing that was really hard. I found it

VERY hard to eat enough! I mean, I would eat add the calories from

breakfast, lunch and dinner and I would still have less than 1000 calories.

SO, I went on a quest to discover snacks I could eat... well, I basically

came away empty and started back eating my carbs. Like you said, everything

has tons of carbs! I did discover sugar free jello and cool whip for a

delicious dessert. For snacks, I snacked on fruit or veggies, oh, there's

always pork rinds which a lot of people hate. I personally like them so I use

to eat them quite often. OH, then there's string cheese which is SO fun to

eat! Also there's nuts, I snack on those all the time. LOL Those bars,

yes, I tried a few. Thought they tasted HORRIBLE but that's just my

opinion. They are terribly expensive. It was really difficult not eating

things high in carbs but I think there is something to it! It's just that

for me, when I started back eating a lot of carbs, I went completely nuts

and couldn't stop eating! I am finally finding some balance again! I

decided that since this is SO hard for me that I would try what Shellie said

in one of the talks... eat most of your carbs earlier in the day. So, I have

been trying to do that. I simply HAVE to have oatmeal, cereal, lowfat

cookies etc. I just HAVE to! LOL So I could never go completely low carb

EVER again.... unless my doctor told me I had to :) I wish I could, I did

feel so much better.... BUT, I felt really good this week also so I can say

that what I am doing must not be so bad either. Even eating this way I am

eating only half of the amount of carbs that I use to, so that's pretty

good! Hope you get some better answers, le, there MUST be more low

carb snacks out there!

le,

I've tried almost all of the lower carb bars. My

favorites are the Balance Gold, the Apple Cinnamon and

Strawberry Yogurt Zone bars, and various flavors of

Ironman High Energy bars especially the carrot cake.

A good really low carb bar is the optimum nutrition

coconut (don't remember the exact name of the flavor).

Another good snack is soynuts. Just make sure you

buy the dry roasted kind so they are lower in fat. I

also buy a thing called OS Trim. It looks like a slim

jim, but it is ostrich. They are very good and almost

all protein. If you can't find any of these items

locally, you can order them at www.netrition.com. I

order from them all of the time and their prices are

pretty competitive. They also have an entire section

of low carb foods (I love the keto crisp soy cereal

and the keto macaroni and cheese. Both are super low

in carbs.) Hope this helps.

Kerri

who wants everyone to know that Balance and Zone bars

are on sale for 99 cents at CVS this week!

Low carb really does work. I have lost about 80lbs on low carb. My Blood

pressure, Cholesterol and everything is normal now. I am a firm believer in

it. We also Have a store that has every Low carb food you can imagine. My

mother is friends with DR atkins. If anyone ever needs a question answered

please E-mail me.

A couple of snacks I've recently found are Genisoy Soy Nuts (barbecue and

salted are my favorite) and Soy Crisps. The soy crisps are more of a Zone

ration 40% carbs, 30% protein, 30% fat, than a " low carb/no carb " snack.

Lacey,

I think I asked you before but I don't remember the

answer. Does your family's store have a web site?
