(((((Elena))))))))) Ok first of all.....you need to go get Stoned ----- just kidding...seriously it is a massage therapy techinique they are using now..... I know you can get it at a Gold's Gym......they use the warm rocks to massage the muscles....I have a spasm I live with on my right side......Chiro said I got it from using my Tae-Bo bag during my Basic workouts (hehehehehe used the bag so I didn't have to do an advanced....bad part I only used the one side -- anyhow I was doubled over in pain this summer went and had a massage and the therapist could feel it it was the size of a grapefruit....she suggested this Stone Therapy...I went to my Gym and the gal did it...man I felt like I had had a two hour massage and it was only an hour one....totally relieved teh spasm...I can still feel it but it doesn't hurt.....although I have heard you never get rid of them......just learn to live with them....... Second...I have hard that IUD's cauze back spasms......and lastly Vicodin is a wimpy pain pill....Darvacet is they way to go ....epecially if the Demoral .... which works well for me didn't work....Darvacet is on the same level as Demoral......I have both......you should be using Muscle relaxers too though !!! did they give you those...... Lastly...why did you even go back to the quack.......stick with the gal that said it is too early to discuss your future workout schedule...first you have to heal the injury before you can determine the extent of your limitations....remember the Dr.'s told after he broke his knee in half that he would never walk again...and we seem him kick his way through our tapes every morning.......soooooo peace AmyBeth-who does know more then 10 doctors heheheheheh and so do you so quit listening to the doctors and listen to yourself now that you know it isn't a surgery situation or a cancer sitatuioln.....it is up to you to heal this....and you know how......start from the inside and work your way back....... Guest guest
Yup, I'm on muscle relaxants, too. Thanks to all of your encouragement, I call back my new doctor and told her I was still having the same level of pain (not like Monday of course, but like Tues.) and she gladly agreed to substitute oxycodone for vicodan. That should do the trick. She called me back in an hour, which I really appreciated (after the last quack not calling me back for 2 days). AmyBeth, I agree with Janick that no spasm should last forever. The stone massage sounds great. But, if you still have the same spasm after months, you need to see someone for help. They are not supposed to last that long. Thank you again everyone (too many to name because it seems like each and everyone of you has sent me a helpful, supportive post). You are lifting my spirits as well as encouraging me to get the best medical care. Love Elena Re: My back update (OT)-- Get Stoned!!!!!! > > .> I'm on heavy steroids now. We'll see how it works.
