Guest guest
I soon will be needing a water filter. I am looking for something that wll purify most things not just taste. Can anybody recommend a site or filter? I need many gallons. thank you. By the way, anybody concerned with the quality of food and air as a result of recent events? I went to the beach today and there was a heavy foam left over on the shore (scum is my guess).....
Guest guest
Very interesting. We live around farms so we are very concerned about our water. We buy ro water at this point from a natural spring supposedly. It is expensive to have water tested for chemicals. Thinking we would still use our ro water and run it through this. In addition, what do people use for their shower filters??? > > > > I soon will be needing a water filter. I am looking for something that wll purify most things not just taste. Guest guest
Big Berkey is not for municipal or city water that adds flouride. Its flouride filter, PF2, can't take out flouride more than 90-95%. It can take out chlorine though. I got one but we have city water. Our Big Berkey filtered water has a PH of 7.5-8. But i had to distill it due to the flouride content. The ph changes to 5.5-6.5. :-( > > http://www.bigberkey.com/ > > this is the one im about to get.im just getting the elements and making my own. > > http://www.bigberkey.com/Super_Sterasyl.html > > BILL > >
Guest guest
Here are two links that I feel are valuable. I love these plans for a well bucket. I have a well and this will be the perfect well to get the water out. I plan on making a few of them.  This helps get water out of your well when there is no electricity.  http://livethemotto.blogspot.com/2010/02/home-made-well-bucket.html Here are plans on building your own berkey filter system... looks pretty good. I like the berkey because the two filters clean i think around 6000 gallons of water. http://www.alpharubicon.com/kids/homemadeberkeydaire.htm I just ordered two filters and got a sports bottle free. no s/h charges. 99 for the two filters. Got them a man on ebay. Debbie from nwpa ________________________________ To: sproutpeople Sent: Tue, April 19, 2011 10:18:17 AM Subject: Re: Water filter  Very interesting. If you don't want the set (kitchen tap + shower), you can buy the shower filter unit by itself. Don For the first time EVER - start an online business at ZERO cost! Guest guest
I use the Aquasana as well. Best to have a spare filter cartridge on hand, as once the filters shot, you lose water pressure quickly..... I just replaced one, that lasted for about a year. You were well past the intended life, . They're usually good for about 8 months. When I bought the combo set, I also signed up for automatic shipment of replacements - then send 'em every 6 months. So, when the new ones come....it's time to change. I slipped up and went past " that time " & ended up with extras, so I can accelerate the process now. But, yeah, by all means....good to keep an extra or two on hand if you only get 'em when you feel you need to. Don For the first time EVER - start an online business at ZERO cost!
