Janice,

Thank you for taking the time to share your STORY!!! You & your son

are such a testimony.

Shanna (mom to a 14 year old autistic & seeing results)

12.5. He has or I should say had global dyspraxia and apraxia of

speech, hypotonia, auditory processing issues, etc. etc. not classic

autism but certainly some severe troubles. His primary metal was

lead and also some mercury but mostly lead.

supplementation but slow and steady gains especially about 3 months

after starting. I was always so envious of the younger kids who

would get a little EFA plus carnitine and begin developing muscle

tone and thought that I was too late: I wasn`t! My son was just so

depleted of vital nutrients that it took much, much longer for his

body stores to develop reasonable levels and for us to see

improvements.

carnitine, COQ10, CLO and borage oil heavily last September. By

December, Mark`s energy levels improved dramatically and he no longer

`fell`out of school and he had better attention levels. In January

we began oral DMSA and his attention level zoomed upwards after a

couple of rounds. In June, I could tell we were missing

something..... it was yeast and bacteria. We attacked those with a

furor this summer, radically changed our diets and today my boy is

pretty much recovered. Prior to biomed and all the way through

biomed, I did a `truckload`of home therapy designed for me at NACD.

(www.nacd.org) Older kids need a lot of therapy! They need daily

therapy to make up for all of the time that they have lost. We do it

at home and it works.

We ultimately have had to go to a completely sugar free diet, no

starchy carbs (except the occasional rice chip or so for parties) and

we viciously attacked the pathogens, the bacteria and all of the

little critters all at once. It really has worked.

> I believe that older children are tougher because we dont see those

gains immediately and so we give up supplementing items that they

need. They have bigger bodies and require therapeutic doses of

supplements to see changes.

>

> Again, follow the labs. Make sure you get comprehensive labs done

like the Metametrix Ion Profile so that you absolutely know which

items your child is deficient in. Make sure that you change the diet

and work it hard. Make sure that your child is getting solid therapy

to overcome the milestones (or redo the milestones) that he has

missed.

the age.

between diet and supplements to maintain this recovery. I hope that

one day he wont need this but today, we will stick to the plan.....

it is indeed working.
