Guest guest
I had to have mine done 2 times. The first was like green mud inside after the prep, had to go through another day of the horrible prep. The second one was good. Mel Anyone ever heard of a colonoscopy being unsuccessful?Had my first one - turned 50 in August - followed all the rules for the "cleanse" and it was unsuccessful.Nothing could be seen. Guest guest
October 26th Hello all! Melodie in Colusa here. Seven years in June 09 with GRDS. I think I am a success story. I was 311 and now I weigh 181 and work out 2 x' per week and usually walk a few times but should do more. Wear an easy 16 - tight 14. Would like to lose ten lbs. by New Years. Reducing carbs and sugars. Have already noticed the reduction of gas and increased firmness of stools. Anyone ever heard of a colonoscopy being unsuccessful? Had my first one - turned 50 in August - followed all the rules for the " cleanse " and it was unsuccessful. Nothing could be seen. Made an appt. with Dr. K in November to get my bloodwork checked out, a possible hernia, start procedures for a tummy tuck in March 2010. I spoke to and she was helpful. She said to get all my paperwork from the colonoscopy and from hysterectomy in Feb 09 and bring it in. I have a large mesh from prior hernia so I don't know how bad the tt will be to recover from. I guess I am just happy I finally made the appt. and going to have some bloodwork done again to see if the labs are ok. said the colonoscopy could be unsuccessful because the colon is large. I told them repeatedly that I was a WLS patient but they weren't interested. Anyone have any comments? If not, let's hear some check-ins and some stats. I always get re-vitalized hearing other success stories!! Thanks for listening. Melodie

Guest guest
Melody 7 years going from over 300 lbs to under 200 lb is indeed a great success story. On the colonoscopy. Normies have " unsuccessful " scopes. So I would assume we can have the same kind of problems. Our Colons (the large intestines) are not involved in our DS. So it pretty much does not 'directly' affect the scope...them not being interested in your DS isn't all that big a deal. Hugs Jo
