Dee, you are one of the lucky ones, or so I have been told. I have been in

the hospital there three times and never had Carmen. I missed her baths, so

they have all told me. I always gave myself my baths. One gal helped me a

little

once, just a little. Not like Carmens baths. So, see, you are off to a good

start already. Now just relax and let them pump you full of all the good

stuff they have. I know that if they have to give you potassium it can burn a

bit, but if it does, they can give it in either pill or liquid form. I had all

three while I was in there this last time. I had two blood transfusions and a

calcium infusion. Those I can remember. I know i had four different lines

going in me. So they will get you going. You are going to get the good stuff

gong in you and be ready to see us on the 11th. I will be there for the

meeting,

and if you aren't able to make it over to the meeting, I will come see you

in your room. I live in Fresno, or I would come sooner and just visit. I know

how miserable time in the hospital is. Just know you are in my thoughts and

prayers. Keep the faith. Things will get better. You are in good hands, both

Dr. K's and God's. So you can't be better off.

The docs at home said I was " just not eating right " ! I wasn't! I couldn't!

Anyway.....I am here in

DRMC!! Carmen greeted me at the door and took care of me like a queen till she

went home at 7. That was a very nice suprise! We did tests and ex-rays and a

million iv's today! More of the same tomorrow. Surgery still planned for Wed at

9am. I am in room 306. My direct number is . Anyone and everyone Is

Oh I am so glad you are safe and tucked in. I hope you or someone will be able

to update us so we can hear how everything went. You have all of us here for you

and I am sending big hugs. Hang in there- you are going to be so much healthier

very soon. God Bless Dr. K.

I have a question for anyone reading this. My ins will no longer cover Dr. Z

and K. What if something like this happens or any surgery is needed? Is it ok to

have another surgeon do it? Are there higher risks? This especially applies to

those of you who are not close by Delano.

I have a question for anyone reading this. My ins will no longer

cover Dr. Z and K. What if something like this happens or any surgery

is needed? Is it ok to have another surgeon do it? Are there higher

risks? This especially applies to those of you who are not close by

Delano.

>

1. Yes it is ok to have another surgeon operate on you. I would

want that surgeon to consult with Dr. Z before surgery. Doctors

speaking Doctorspeak to each other can be very effective.

2. Sneaky approach...many times insurance has to cover an emergency

event while you are traveling and end up in an emergency room....you

could be traveling thru Delano when you suddenly become ill (catch my

drift?)....Now is a good time to check your insurance coverage for

just such an event.

3. Doctor visits...Personally I'd private pay if I needed to for

continued care in that department. Vicki you live close enough for

that to be very possible. You can't afford to not make your health

care a priority in life. I understand that when it would come to

test/procedures or surgery that you would need insurance to cover

that....but a simple straight forward yearly office visit to discuss

your labs is affordable.

Don't worry about an endo...just make sure they know you have had a

DS with a Lateral Sleeve Gastrectomy...in other words the greater

curvature of the stomach has been removed.

Hugs

Jo
