Guest guest
Hi Everyone, Sorry its been so long since I posted but things have been really hectic around here. As Janick and Lucie already know, I have had a house guest for the last six weeks. I called up an old friend/boy friend in the middle of february after not talking to him for almost 10 years. He had gotten married at that time to a very obsessive woman who didn't want him to have anything to do with his old friends. I had been having that nagging feeling that I should call him ever since we moved back to this area over a year ago but I didn't do anything about it until my husband called my bluff. I called him on a Tuesday night and he wasn't home so I didn't leave a message (big mistake), he used last call return and called back the next day wondering who the heck this Lady was that called. Well he caught my husband before he left for work and got my work number and called me there. I sat at my desk talking to him and crying like a baby everyone around me was wonder what the heck was going on. We made plans to get together on the following Friday. When he walked in the door it was like the ten years had never happened. We were hugging and crying (ok I was crying) and both trying to talk at once. Turns out things hadn't been going all that well at home lately and he had been having some heart problems. We had a great visit and when he left I told him he was welcome at our place any time day or night. On the following Monday Dave (DH) called Randy (friend) on his cell and found out that he had been taken to the hospital with chest pains that afternoon and that he would call us when he got out or if he needed anything. I prayed as hard as I could that night that I wouldn't loose him just as I had gotten him back. Randy called Tuesday night and said he was at home with new pills to take and was feeling better. He called again on Wednesday night all upset, his wife had called the cops on him and was throwing him out and he had no where to go. I immediately said he could come here. He said to ask Dave and call him back. Dear Hubby took it all in stride and said of course he should stay here, as if there were no other possible place he should go! So Thursday evening Randy moved in. It has been a hilarious, spirit lifting, marriage bonding, and friendship renewing 6 weeks. It was awesome living with my two best men! I ended up telling people that I had two husbands because that is exactly how it felt! The guys at hubby's work just couldn't understand why Dave would let Randy move in with us and Dave's answer was " I trust my wife and I believe in our marriage " If anything these last six weeks has made my marriage stronger! I had an awesome time with Lucie and Janick at the TTC back in February. I had just walked in the door and was signing in when I heard my name being called from the far end of the studio! Lucie had spotted me straight off! It was really neat walking up to someone you had never seen before and giving them hugs! It was as if we were all long lost friends! We had a great workout. Lucie went to the front of the class and Janick and I stayed at the back and sweated buckets! I walked it out a fair bit and used the standing bag behind me for support on some of the kicks and drank a lot of water but it was a great workout! We found an internet cafe just down the street and paid $5 to send you guys the pictures and the email and then headed for lunch! We parted company shortly after lunch and I spent the rest of the day wondering around the shops with my friend. All in all it was a great day and I can't wait to do it again sometime. Unfortunately I won't be able to make it down when is there Somebody say hi to Trevor for me! Dave has a race that day and I have a 5k (3 mile) walk for MS on the Sunday morning. Ok on to my brags. I have finally reached my goal weight! I had been really sick with the flu at the end of January and I had lost 5 pounds in two and a half days. Well I have regained that 5 pounds but it is all muscle! I can finally see some ab definition and my body fat percent has actually dropped (just using an internet site but the same one for the last 4 years) from 24% as of last November to 21%. Brag number 2: I started running this week! The weather has finally changed here in Southern Ontario and spring has arrived. I read in Shape (I think) about wind sprints and decided that I wanted to try them. So Wednesday night after an early supper I went out and walked to the end of the street and back and then ran to the first street light and walked back to where I started, then I ran to the second street light and walked back and then ran to the second street light again and then walked back, then the neighbour came out and we started to talk. I'm hoping that I can do this at least once a week to increase my cardio (which is the area that I am sorely lacking in). Brag number 3: I finally made it through Basic yesterday afternoon. I had only done it once before I had gotten sick and its taken this long to get back to the point when I can finish it. Brag number 4 (OT): I finally made the time and got my CPR certification! Now I can move on to the next part of getting my Personal Trainers Certificate. The dreaded practical exam!!!!! Thanks to all that have read this far and welcome to all the newbies! Time to get moving. Hugs Pat who has finally caught up on all the messages sitting in her Taebo box! and vows never to get 600 + messages behind again! -- Even though circumstances may cause interruptions and delays, never lose sight of your goal.
