Guest guest
Hi Saul, Thinking about the idea that the severe digestive problems I'm having might be viral, but unwilling to wait for it to just go away on its own (since I've been a week without eating), I decided to look for someplace that uses ozone. I found a clinic in Washington, D.C. They do ozone IV's and saunas. They said they use the saunas mostly for mercury detox. I figured if the problem is in the digestive tract the probable preferred delivery method would be rectal insufflation. Am I right? The receptionist I spoke to on the phone wasn't familiar with it, and it was after hours so there was no one to ask. If all they do is IV and sauna, what would you recommend if I'm suffering from a viral infection that's causing digestive problems? And if it's a recently contracted parasite, would ozone be effective? I had a Great Smokies Diagnostic Labs digestive analysis in December and no parasites showed up, nor any other pathology except yeast overgrowth, which my D.C. is treating. So I'm really thinking this is an infection of some kind from a very recent exposure, probably food-borne. Thanks. Peggy

You might want to give that a try. It really does help. Seems like I've also heard blueberries are helpful, but not sure on that one. I have used the papaya and yogart with positive benefits. Hope you get to feeling better soon. Gail
Guest guest
Dear Peggy, Rectal insufflation would be the recommended protocol for an intestinal virus or bacteria. However, from reading your posts, it sounds to me like a stone has blocked the common bile duct. Try taking some Epsom salts in water, which will open the duct. See if that has any effect. Guest guest
Thank you, Saul. I'm inclined to agree--this feels less and less like an infectious agent and more and more like a blockage of some kind. Another question, then: can I harm myself in any way by taking the Epsom salts? I.e., if something else is causing this, could the Epsom salts have an adverse affect that would make things worse? Thanks. Peggy >>However, from reading your posts, it sounds to me like a stone has blocked the common bile duct. Try taking some Epsom salts in water, which will open the duct. Guest guest
Dear Peggy, The Epsom salts will not hurt you, regardless of the problem. They will just relax the duct. Best of Health! Guest guest
Hi Peggy, I'm still very worried about you. And, no, I'm not Saul, but I wanted to just say, if there is any possibility of it being an appendicitis attack, do NOT take a laxative of ANY sort (espom salt included); a laxative speeds up the activity of the small intestine and can cause the appendix to rupture. ENEMAS must also be avoided. With appendicitis the pain may be dull or acute, but it is fairly constant. The danger is that the inflamed appendix may burst. God be with you. Guest guest
Thanks, Gail, but I thought the appendix was in the lower abdomen, way down. My pain is way up right under my ribcage. Could that possibly be the appendix? Peggy
Guest guest
Hi Peggy, I am thinking what about the pancreas, it plays a important role in digestion and metabolism. The pancreas is connected to the Duodenum (upper portion of the small intestine)by a duct (sometimes two ducts.) The pancreas supplies the duodenum with pancreatic juice, a thick, colorless fluid containing the following digestive enzymes.Acute infection of the pancreas can result from invasion by bacteria. Pancreatitis is a disease involving a rupture of the pancreatic duct and subsequently corrosion of the organ by its own secretions. The disease is especially common among alcoholics and heavy eaters. Guest guest
Hi Laurie, Thanks for the info. I'll keep all of this in mind when I talk to the doc. I'm scheduled for a CT scan in about an hour. They tell me it will give a full picture of the pancreas as well as liver/gallbladder. We know there's not a bacterial infection as I've had a blood test. I never drink alcohol and I'm not a heavy eater. I AM wondering, however, if my dietary changes might have stressed some of these organs. I was a vegetarian for many years and began eating meat a little less than a year ago, when I became extremely ill and finally decided I might not be getting enough protein. Maybe my system has been stressed by the inclusion of animal foods after such a long time, though I haven't gone overboard at all, maybe 5 ounces of meat once a day. We'll see. Thanks to everyone for all the good info. I'll report back when I know more. I'm also seeing my DC tonight and we'll discuss the possibility of a gallbladder flush. The lab has already refused in advance to tell me what the test results are, saying I'll have to get them from the dr. I guess they think it's dangerous to let us know what's going on in our own bodies. Peggy
Guest guest
Well, I can't say being I'm just not qualified. The pain during my appendix attack was not on the right or left, instead the pain was all over the abdomen and it was constant. Never did let up. Could be why the doctors missed it and it did rupture. That was my main concern about you. My gallbladder attacks where higher under the ribcage like you're describing. They went straight through to the back. I think the cat scan will determine more information. Let us know.
