a cardiologist friend of mine just finished his cultural competency training, and reluctantly admitted that he learned something ! (not a shock, this dude's not known for his people skills)

so realizing that people only have a 4-5th grade average understanding level, he came up with the great idea of when giving people a med list, taking one of the pills and taping it to the list next to the name of the drug (so they could not say "the little white one" when they were out of it and needed a refill.) i balked at this, since provigil is $8/pill, but wondered if there was a way to incorporate this into an easy to use database, esp, for example, in the "print med list" section of amazing charts. just a thought.

(i also like to tell them how many pills they will be taking am, pm, etc when i give them the sheet, so they can count them in thebox as a double check, but i don't know if they do it.)
