I am glad to hear that everyone in your family is ok. I heard that some

marines from Camp Lejune (sp?) are being deployed to NY. Is going? I'll

keep him in my prayers! It occurred to me yesterday that I have an uncle who

lives in Manhattan and works in investment banking. I haven't been able to

get a hold of my dad to see exactly where my uncle works. I am praying it's

not the world trade center or anywhere near there. My Dad hasn't responded to

my emails and hasn't been answering the phone. It's making me nervous!!

Please keep my uncle in your prayers.

I will keep him in my prayers. As of yet is not being deployed. We will

know more later today. They might let him come home for a little while. He

told me that he can't tell me everything over the phone because it is

confidential. So I'll tell ya'll what I can. He says everyone there is ready

to kick butt and the atmosphere is more pro-active and angry then anything.

Well all here is the latest. NO trip. Instead there will be a CT scan an

endoscopy and colonoscopy. Now doesn't that sound like fun? This blankety

blank fever just won't break. Dr. K started me on Flagyl, so we will see if

that will do it, but I only started that yesterday and of course so far it

hasn't made a bit of difference. Both Dr. K and my new surgeon are unhappy

about the fever and about my anemia. So they are both in total agreement

about what needs to be done. The surgeon this morning said he wants a CT done

just to make sure everything is okay on the inside. He did nick the

intestine and he had to unfasten one section of intestine that had adhered to my

abdominal wall. So I had blood tests and a B12 shot this morning. Next

Thursday I get the CT done, on the 7th, then I go back and see him on the 13th.

In the meantime, both Dr. K and Dr. Dritsas are both trying to get me set up

for the endo/colonoscopy. Whoever can get it set up first. So my trip has

been canceled. I will now wait and go back the end of Sept. for my

daughters birthday. Or that is now my plan. Just need to get this fever down.

Can't

get it below 99.4. I usually run low, so what is considered normal is

usually a fever to me. That is the latest. I will let you know when anything

else happens.

Pearl...darn-it to heck! I hate it that you are having to postpone your trip,

but I'd hate it even more if you got out of town and you got really ill.

So..it's for the best that you get this fever issue resolved. It just sucks

that your recovery isn't going text-book smooth. sigh

Update

Caitlin's appointment is on

Friday, 9/17 at MD . She is seeing Dr. FC Holsinger, who uses robotic

technology to perform partial thyroidectomy surgery. He thinks she may be a

good candidate for this approach.

Still don't know whether her tumor is benign or malignant - won't know until

pathology is completed after tumor is removed.

Please wish us luck!! :) Thanks!
