The -Beckett

Deeming Waiver has helped many families of children with medical and

therapeutic needs, but the qualifications have changed over the last

several years. Heidi will review current changes and how to apply

for and renew your waiver.

Heidi J. has a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Purdue University.

After the birth of her first son, who has Down syndrome, she elected to stay

home to ensure his needs were met. Heidi is very involved in many

organizations and committees. Currently, she has a distribution list of more than 2,500 plus members to

promote awareness of the advocacy issues that affect children and adults with

disabilities and empower parents with information to help make necessary

changes in Georgia.

In October 2008, Heidi was appointed by Governor Perdue to be on the Olmstead Planning

Committee for home and community based services for individuals with

disabilities and mental health concerns.
