CPT warning -- IM or SC injections

I must be the only one who doesn’t keep up on these

things, but now I find I can’t charge the friendly 90772 anymore.

They have added 5600 to it, so now we have to use 96372

instead for IM or SC injections.

Since I generally get paid less than it costs for

testosterone cypionate, and since I make the patients buy their own injectable MTX,

getting paid for the injection itself is pretty important to keep me from being

in a negative cash flow. I can only hope that the larger number

will be reimbursed more than the smaller one.

In fact, I think that is a good idea! To save primary

care, we need to get rid of the RVU system, and instead be paid based on the

numerical value of the CPT code. . . .
