Maybe the SCOBY Wouldn't Care, - but You Might:-))

Hi EveryOne,

Kombucha, being acidic, may leach from the container it is brewed or stored

in. If that container is made of lead, lead will get into your Kombucha and

it has happened with old pottery crocks. If it is less than food grade

plastic, then estrogen hormone mimics and other negative aspects of plastics

will get into your Kombucha, after all plastics are made from petrochemicals

The Kombucha may not care but it will not be good for your health!

If you brew and bottle in glass, nothing leaches into your Kombucha. (No one

would use leaded glass because it is very expensive like fine crystal. )

Therefore since you and your family ultimately will be drinking your

Kombucha. - pay attention to what you brew and bottle in. IMHO you Kombucha

will be healthier too:-)) Of course that also goes for the ingredients you

use to make it as well.

There is a saying thousands of years old, " Farmer be careful what you feed

your cow! " After all, who will be drinking the milk or in this case, the

Kombucha tea?

Happy New Year to One and All!

Peace, Love and Harmony,

Bev
