It kind of felt like the wind was knocked out of me for a second. Went away pretty quickly and Dr. Z waited for it to end and then did the next one which was easy. The drains for my hernia repair were no problem at all. Many people do feel pain but like Jo said, it is so quick. It's one of the worst and one of the best appointments you will have. Not for everyone...but for most the drain removal is an OUCH situation. But is is over with very fast. You recover from it quickly and when you walk out of the office you feel SOOOOOOOOO much better than when you walked in. It had gotten sore and was such a relief to get them out, It did feel like a shock when he pulled it out, but like a shot it is over fast. One of those things you dread but want it to happen.
