Guest guest
Hi. Does anybody think that the food they eat can contribute to whether they get better (and into remission) ? Maybe people who have gone into remission could shed some light on this. I've read A LOT about which foods are good and which are bad for us ... and be honest, if I followed it all I wouldnt be able to eat much at all. I've been into remission twice and both times I didnt eat any different to how i normally did - in fact at the weekends I often went clubbing with my mates. Let me give some examples: I have read to avoid: wheat, oats, rye, refined sugars, night shade vegetables (potatoes, tomatoes etc), caffeine, red meat, dairy products, alcohol ... the list does go on believe me. Things to eat: Fresh fruit, vegetables, complex carbs (although most of these also seem to be on the avoid list such as wheat (bread, pasta), potatoes)., filtered water, nuts, oily fish. Then there are herbs and spices such as Turmeric, Ginger, Liquorice. The above is just off the top of my head ... soooo ... has anybody actually ate something which they really do feel has made them feel better or worse? I personally feel chocolate consistently consumed over a few days makes me feel worse - refined carbs. Steve
