Guest guest
I would just like to say that not everyone has access to those kinds of things or the financial means to do those kinds of things. I have have my son going to all the best psychologists and doctors and neurologists in our area, you seem to imply that we are all not all doing all we CAN to help our children. I HAVE to work full time to make ends meet along with all of the Dr. appointments, counseling, school meetings and everything else, including trying not to neglect my other childrens needs, so I take offense in your post. I have to admit that reading all these posts, I normally do not have time, really brings some thoughts to mind.I am a grandparent of a special needs child.I have worked with hundreds of kids with autism, aspergers, ASD, ADSD, and the list goes on.Now let me tell you what I see here, some may not like it and I am not trying to be critical or mean. To me, your child and their feelings are my interest and that is where my experience lies.Remember, they are not invaders of your world, you are a visitor in their world. There are many causes for their condition and we need to spend more time finding t he causes and solutions so they can come closer to living a normal life. They need your love, which is a special love, an understanding love. It means you try to understand why they think and react the way they do.I understand that living with them every day, 365 a year, creates a feeling that it will never end. It can remove our hope and enthusiasm of ever seeing them improve. It does not remove your responsibility as a parent. You are their only hope of ever having a life that is even close to being normal.I have not seen any therapies discussed to help these problems. I have seen many kids just like your show wonderful improvements. I have seen other children who just do not seem to respond to any type therapy. So the big question is, what have your tried? Some of the most successful are:1. HBOT (hyperbaric oxygen therapy). I am talking about 1.5 to 1.8 ATA using 100% oxygen, 40 treatments each session. I am not talking about a soft chamber which does not get the job done.2. Diet, I am not knowledgable in this area, but I have seen great accomplishments, great attitude changes, and great improvements in health by changing the diets.3. AIT, auditory integration therapy. Learn about it and understand that your child may have sounds in his head that drive him nuts, put him in a bad mood, etc. He does not know how to tell you about it because he has had them all his life and does not know they don't belong. AIT retrains the brain to process sounds properly.4. STEM CELL. Lately, I have seen some of the most amazing results with stem cell therapy, especially with older children.Learn about these therapies and try each and every one of them. Expensive, yes, but if you let me know what area you are in, I may be able to find you some affordable therapy.I founded and operated Miracle Mountain in NC for many years providing over 22,000 hbot treatments along with AIT. I have seen miracles. I believe they are available to each and every one of your children. Renew your efforts and renew your hope. Your children are totally dependent on you for their future. Yes, I have heard many times before how much they cost, how we cannot take the time and effort from work to do them. Etc. Etc.That's your decision. The results of that decision will be realized by your child. Do you want to see improvement. How can you put a price on it? It takes sacrifice. You are all familiar with making sacrifices. The question is, are they the right sacrifices? If you are interested, I will try to steer you in the right direction to help. Guest guest
Thank you . I agree that there are many other forms of therapy that benefit our unique children (other than the normal prescriptions handed out by every developmental pediatrician out there.) I think the big issue here is that there is no one in the " established " professional community educating parents on viable alternatives to drugs. I have found that there are three main areas that need to be addressed in order to truly help our kids: bio-medical, bio-mechanical and behavioral. Many of these therapies are very low cost or free, several you can learn to do yourself. Bio-medical: I prefer to use supplements to treat a dysfunctional autoimmune system like L-Glutathione, minerals, and a mitochondria booster. Doing an heavy metal cleanse to rid the body of accumulated toxins (found at health food stores). If your child had a severe reaction to their immunizations, Apis remedy helps (my son started becoming empathetic for the first time after I gave it to him). Diet would also fall into this category. Bio-mechanical: Children have a hard time moving into higher processing centers if they are stuck with deficits in basic operations (vestibular, proprioseption, audio processing). Check into therapies that stimulate the central nervous system (CNS) and cranial nerves. I found amazing results with cranial sacral therapy (CST) and Handle - which uses face and skull tapping to stimulate the cranial nerves. Massage therapy is a wonderful tool that causes the body to produce serotonin and cortisol and helps bring the child out of the fight or flight response -parasympathetic nervous system operation into the sympathetic nervous system response. Both of these therapies parents can learn to do themselves so you do not have to depend on providers. Behavioral: Behaviors are a form of communication. If your child lacks appropriate expressive skills, most-likely you will see behaviors as a result. If you are able to address the areas that cause the anxiety for your child, you will see a direct result in the behaviors. Parents must give their children replacements for the unwanted behaviors. Just expecting them to stop doing what they are doing and not teaching them appropriate ways of expressing is truly unfair to that child. Debra Wow.
