Guest guest
Hi : Not that I'm a terrible lot of help in relation to this drug - I don't think my dad is on that one. But I wanted to let you know that you're not alone in your mom's delusions. When dad has these 'spells' he sometimes refuses to eat because he thinks that we're poisioning him. There are also non-existent children around that he refers to - often if we're in the car, he'll look to the back seat and ask where the children went. Sometimes at home he'll look around and be very upset because they've disappeared on him. He thinks these kids are his, although at 33, I'm his youngest child. Fortunately, Dad is pretty good about taking his pills. But unfortunately, while they've come up with some drugs that help us cope (like Seroquel), it only helps sometimes. I don't know how long your mom has been on this drug, but if she recently started on it, I'd give her a few weeks on it at least to let her system adjust to it, it might just need some time to get going. And what works for some doesn't work for all, your mom may need more time with it than others. Maybe she needs more food for it to work, although I'm not sure how you can fix that one! Good luck and hang in there, we'll be here... KD > > Hi again: > > Not sure how long we should expect to see a difference in Mum's > delusions with this drug.
