Wow- thats a good question. Jo?

I know alot of protein drinks come in a liquid kind of like gatoraide. Other

are the shake type. I would think the first one would count but dont quote me.

It would make sense that it would though

Do you count the 4 oz of milk as part of your liquid intake for the day?

Thanks for the information.

NO, I DON'T. BUT I USE MY CHICKEN BROTH AS PART OF MY INTAKE.

SOMETIMES I TAKEN TAOFU AND CUT IT UP INTO LITTLE PIECES AND USE THE TOFU AS

PART OF MY PROTEIN. THE TOFU TAKES THE FAVOR OF THE ATHE FOOD YOU PUT IT IN, AND

ITS SOFT, I THOUGHT I WON'T LIKE IT. PUT I DO.

Absolutely...YES. Any liquid or anything that when melted would be

liquid (like ice, jello, popsicles..) counts towards your fluid intake.

Diane...drinking 3 protein drinks spread out through the day is

excellent.

You say you are hooked on V8...Drinking v8 isn't bad, but be careful if

you are drinking alot. Those calories DO count and are easily

absorbed. For " best " weightloss you don't want to drink calories.

Healthy things like a couple glasses of orange juice can stall

weighloss. So a word of caution on the V8. A little, ok...Hooked on

it may be tooooo much.

Just makeing sure on your vitamins...you are also taking calcium.

Don't count the calcium in the milk towards you daily total. Just

consider milk products a calcium bonus. Take your calcium in at least

3 doses spread out through the day and don't take Iron when you take

calcium. I like to repeat this info occasionally so all newbies hear

it.

========================

You 'may' count the broths in soups and such as fluid intake.

Especially early post-op if you are trying to get in all that 64oz of

fluid you still need to leave room for protein foods. It's very

overwhelming to try to get " it all in " . Sounds like you are doing a

good job.
