Guest guest
We had sleep issues with for 6 years. Until we found out that it's not that he didn't want to sleep, he can't sleep or couldn't sleep. Gas, bloating, inflammation, nerves firing, nausia, headaches, body aches. These children don't know how to tell you something is hurting me or bothering me. I know personally and can relate because it is happening to me due to a car accident that has left me permanently disabled. The inflammation in my body won't let me sleep, the nerves fire constantly. I have permanent nerve damage. I was in bed for 5 years. I started avoiding some foods on the Food to Avoid List and eating Foods on the Foods Recommended List such as honey instead of sugar, fresh or frozen fruits and vegetables instead of can etc. It help the inflammation subside.I have been out of bed since 2008. Children like 's nerves are not permanently damaged. Inflammation is surrounding the nerves. Now getting to how it has helped , the GAPS Foods to Avoid, Foods Recommended, Epsom salt baths, Nes Health. All natural, no long or short term side effects. puts himself to bed now. He urinates before he goes to bed and sleeps all night for 8-9 hours. No medications. ( takes whole foods and natural supplementation). Our bodies have an inherit ability to heal itself. We have to help it get back on track.Giving children any type of drugs long term causes so many side effects and illnesses. You want to find remedies and solutions not temporary fixes and I pray that you do so. Food for thought. (we just increased the dose this year) He sometimes takes .05 in the afternoons too to help with hyperactivity on top of the nighttime dose. I do feel that the clonidine helps him with sleep, but he is so wired to have such a difficult time sleeping that he doesn't always sleep- even on the meds. How old is your son? -heather Any of your gals or gentleman take Clonidine? If so do they take more than .2? My dr gave me a hard time about the .2. I doubt they are going to increase it but he has a hard time sleeping!! still!!
Guest guest
That seems like really low dosage To: autism-aspergers Sent: Friday, May 11, 2012 8:33 PM Subject: Clonidine Doctors put my 5 and a half year old son on his first Medication. He has high functioning autism. It is Clonidine. He takes half of a milligram in the moring and half at night. They also said to keep giving him Melatonin. I have saw maybe 15-20% Difference. It has only been ten days since we started it. Will this medicine begin working better later? His teacher said that he still is loud but, calmed down some. If anybody has any information or has used Clonidine..I would like to hear about you experiences.
Guest guest
Do you guys know what a typical dose for a 6 year old? Also an almost 7 year old. We have been giving a quarter of a tablet in the morning with vyvanse to help behavior at school but it seems to wear off...
