Guest guest
Jan, I do not know if he will answer you or if you need to poke around a bit, but when Mom got that way, there was usually something going on. My MD aways took a Urine sample when I went in and often it was a UTI. I would never think about that while I was going crazy. It is figuring out that is the hard part. Hope he gets tired and goes to sleep. Hugs Donna R
Guest guest
Jan, THe Alzheimers Store is at : http://www.alzstore.com They have some cool stuff and good ideas. THey do have an alarm if they open the seatbelt, but didn't have something to slip over the seatbelt so it could not be open. Wonder if you could find a hard cap that would fit over the button someway. I thought of tape but realize that might not be strong enough and he could still push the button. Maybe you could tape a hard piece of something over the button. I was also thinking there might be something you could just slide into the seatbelt so it is tight and won't pull out? Just some ideas. I always liked it that mine did not work and the kids wanted to fix it everytime they got in and I would not let them. If I find any thing else, I will let you know. Guest guest
Hey Jan Don't want to frighten you but my dad DID try to open the car door when we were travelling in it! He was desperately 'car sick' with LBD. It was one of the first 'problems' he had - a sudden onset of motion sickness and yet he had a cast iron constitution and had never been travel sick in his life! He also got panic attacks in the car and complained of claustrophobia. One day he crouched down into the foot well and began to 'dig' his way out of the car!! Oh boy - I feel for you! I remember having these crazy days with my dad. It is exhausting. And do you know what???? the next day he would be as 'normal' as ever, as if he was fine. Keep laughing out aloud!!!
