Guest guest
Hi Lorraine Has your surgeon given you any anticipated waiting time? I suppose it’s a bad news and good news thing, your surgery has been postponed however as a result you will going to be one of the lucky ones to try out the new super duper band. No doubt you are feeling disappointed and frustrated by the surgery delay but try and keep your chin up. Kind regards Leanne from Gold Coast Banded 24/01/05 Dr 8.8ml in a 9ml SAGB Band (10 fills) 170cm/Start 124k/Current 87k/First goal was 90k/Next goal 70k -- No virus found in this incoming message. Guest guest
yes, my Dr talked of a band with flaps that can be sewn to firmly secure band - has he an estimated time of arrival of theis new band? Its awful that you have to wait but it will be for the best in the long run. As for me, i am piling on the weight waiting for a fill!!!! >-- Original Message -- >To: SydBand > >Date: Tue, 21 Mar 2006 03:13:00 -0000 >Subject: Surgery Postponed >Reply-To: SydBand > > ><html><body> > > ><tt> >Hi all<BR> ><BR> >I am no longer having surgery as planned on Friday.? Guest guest
Hi Elaine Not aware of this one having flaps. It's not as big as the Vanguard which on me you'd be able to drive a truck though, apparently. But has a bigger 'footprint' than the smaller one so there's more to grip your stomach and as I may have scar tissue will be a better fit than the small one I presently have. Who really knows? Where will all these surgeries end? Is the earth really round???????? Although you're hungry Elaine I like your surgeon's approach. Given your past I think to err on the side of caution is a very wise thing. Hang in there Lorraine > > yes, > my Dr talked of a band with flaps that can be sewn to firmly secure band > - has he an estimated time of arrival of theis new band? Guest guest
Dear Lorraine How frustrating for you to have to wait. I hope that in the long term is better for you if the doctor is going to look at a better alternative. Meanwhile you seem to be bothered by the heartburn and that is not easy. Once I was also bothered by heartburn in my pre banded days, until I discovered Aloe Vera capsules and I took two per day. I found that after about three weeks I got better in a remarkable way. I take them still now that I am banded and also I always carry Gaviscon in my bag. So far I haven't had heartburn, although a bit of reflux when my fill was tight. I hope things improve for you. cheers
Guest guest
Lorraine, So sorry to hear you have been postponed. But... I have a theory that it is "karma" and that it definately is for a good reason. Otherwise, you would be going head Friday and having the other one installed! It is meant to be! Guest guest
Thanks The surgeon was faxing through a new script for the heartburn direct to my local chemist. And doubling the dose. So hopefully that'll address that issue until surgery. Regards Lorraine > > Dear Lorraine > How frustrating for you to have to wait. Guest guest
Hi Mel Karma sounds as good a reason as any right now! I tried to phone you yesterday when I needed to whine but as you said you have teenagers and no doubt it was one of them of the phone! LOL Lorraine > > > > > > > Lorraine, > > So sorry to hear you have been postponed. But... I have a theory that > it is " karma " and that it definately is for a good reason. Guest guest
Ah Lorraine I share your frustration, really I do! It is so hard when you have things sorted mentally and you have it all worked out and it is as if everything is pulled from under you. At least it is for a better reason than what the postponement might have been from yesterday. It is good news that the reflux meds have been amped up for you too. That will hopefully give you some relief! Nx
Guest guest
Hi Lorraine, How frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No wonder you’re feeling “over it” I’m sorry this is happening to you. Hope you get some rest tonight Hugs Jen From: SydBand [mailto:SydBand ] On Behalf Of bingoarms2004 Sent: Tuesday, 21 March 2006 2:13 PM To: SydBand Subject: Surgery Postponed Hi all I am no longer having surgery as planned on Friday. Apparently there is a new Inamed band come on to the market and the surgeon is anticipating that it will be a better option for me than the current small Inamed or the Vanguard. So now I need to wait until he can procure one of these bands. Regards Lorraine PS Feeling like Jan from the Yellow Pages Ad!
Guest guest
Hi Jen Thought of you today. Had a boost juice for lunch! LOL I am over it - hope it passes. Asked hubby tonight what he thought if I had the band removed - and he said you know what'll happen - and I said yeah but I'm sick of this, it rules your life. His response - so does being fat. Guess he won that round. You do a good job of wearing out my boy. He said today when I picked him up - yeah it's always fun, but tiring. Take care Jen, Lorraine > > Hi Lorraine, > > How frustrating!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! > > No wonder you're feeling " over it " > > I'm sorry this is happening to you. > > Hope you get some rest tonight > > Hugs > > Jen > > > > _____ > > From: SydBand [mailto:SydBand ] On Behalf Of > bingoarms2004 > Sent: Tuesday, 21 March 2006 2:13 PM > To: SydBand > Subject: Surgery Postponed > > > > Hi all > > I am no longer having surgery as planned on Friday. Guest guest
Lorraine, Buggar, buggar, buggar. How disappointing for you but then on the bright and positive side, better to have a real ripper of a band, you know like the aussie women's swimming team than a jana hurdie gurdie hurdle type of number.... What do they say? The best comes to those who wait........ Strength Special One, Love, Ghyll
