Selena -

Wow, congrats on the 15 pounds! I have been doing taebo very consistantly

since October and have also lost 15 lbs. I don't have alot to loose, so it

was very slow....I think people who have alot to loose might loose at a

quicker pace. I went from 133 to 118 and at 5'7 " I don't really want to

loose anymore.

I think it's probably different for everyone.

Caroline, who's delighted that I need to eat more to maintain now. Whoopie!

<< Hi everyone! I finally got the courage to get on the scales this

morning and found that I'd lost two more pounds this week (15 pounds

total). I was wondering how everyone else was doing and how long it

takes and how much weight people are losing on average. My sister-in-

law is thinking about getting TB and asked me what the average weight

loss is and the time it takes.

Welcome to all the new people! I know you will find this site very

motivational, I know I sure have!

Selena, who is now on workout number 6 since the mighty 100 challenge

started. >>

That is great Selena! Congratulations on your loss! I am not sure what the

average loss is because everyone loses at different rates. In the beginning,

I lost at a rate of about 5 pounds a month. I seem to lose in spurts now.

I'll lose 5 or 6 pounds in a few weeks and then don't lose again for another

few months. Anyway, congratulations on your weight loss!

:)

Congratulations on the 2 pounds Selena. I would tell your SIL that weight

loss depends on a lot of factors, e.g., how close you are to your ideal

weight when you start, your age, your fitness level when you start taebo, ...

.. Tell her how much fun taebo is and how good you feel about yourself when

you are doing it. Tell her that healthy living (a lifetime journey) requires

some form of exercise, and that taebo makes exercise fun and enjoyable.

Selena,

Congratulations on the weight loss this week :) Weight loss varies

for everyone, so it's really hard to say how long it will take or how

much you will lose in a given period of time! I always stress not to

focus too much on the weight loss because it can drive you

crazy...LOL! Instead, try to focus on all the other changes you

notice when you start Tae-Bo and the weight loss will just fall into

place :)

Selena,

I've been losing weight for about 9 weeks. I lose

about 2 pounds a week, and have now lost a total of 27

pounds. Congrats on your loss!

IMO it's much better to take the *average* weight loss over the 12

week period of time. Some weeks (in the beginning especially) you

might lose 3-4 lbs (er, this mostly applies to men or women than have

a lot of BF to lose) and some weeks you might not lose anything at

all! Over the course of 12 weeks though, you might average out to

1.5-2 lbs per week.

For example, my last challenge (#6) I lost 16 scale lbs over the 12

weeks, an average of 1.33 lbs/wk. However, I lost 7 of those in the

1st week (water weight from porking out over the holidays) which

means I lost a little less than 1 lb for each remaining week of the

challenge. Try to look at the big picture as far as your progress

goes. If you get to day-to-day in measuring your progress, it can

seem like things are moving slower than molasses in December. :)

Hey All

Just a bit of interesting information. I weighed myself today - 6 days

after giving birth and I weigh less than I ever have my entire life!!

I was 171 pounds when I got pregnant and today I am 147 pounds! Woohoo.

Jeepers! You mum must have had one heck of a delivery when you were born!

That's got to be a record. :-)

And I thought Bohdi was only 3 days old. Are you doing drugs again?

Again, Kris, I'm so happy for you and that man.
