Guest guest
I have pea shoots growing in a medium in my kitchen window all the time. He's the plan. I take two foam containers that mushrooms come in. Poke holes in the bottom of one. Moisten some medium. I use one part peat or coir and one part perlite. Fill the container that you've put holes only one half way full. This is important. Put in a lot of pea seeds. They don't mind being crowded. Then just barely cover the seeds with more medium. Keep the seeds moist, but not wet. Set the container with seeds into the second container and place a spacer in the bottom of the second container, so when water drains out of the top one, your seeds won't be sitting in water. The reason that you only fill it half way is because the seeds push up the growing medium and it will be all over your window sill. Once the sprouts get about two inches, cut them off and eat them. When you cut off peas, they grow back. So you can get several harvests. After the third cutting, feed your peas a little diluted liquid kelp to get a few more cuttings. You can use any two matching plastic containers, but since some plastic my be harmful, I stick with the foam. You can use this same set up for sunflowers, but once you cut a sunflower sprout, it won't grow back. Some of the others can chime n here and tell you of their experiences with this method. ew Pea Shoots First, thanks for the link to your videos, Melody. I ordered my Sprout Garden this morning - I think I will like the results for leafy green sprouts much better with this. Has anyone made pea shoots in a medium like vermiculite? Do you think I could do that in the Sprout Garden? I ordered some peas, and will sprout some, but really want to try the shoots as well

Guest guest
I use perlite because the pieces are bigger and it takes less of them. ew Re: Pea Shoots I grow pea shoots in soil. EW taught me.
